WellMed at Remcon

"I went to Wellmed as a walk in because my regular PA was on vacation and there was nobody to cover for her. The receptionist told me to go to emergency or wait until next week. I was seen within 20 minutes at Wellmed on Remcon Circle and diagnosed with strep throat. Imagine how sick I would have been if I had waited. Thank you to the PA who saw me. I didn't get her name. She prescribed antibiotics and told me I would start to feel better by tomorrow. I was so impressed I switched doctors."

"I just started on Medicare, I didn’t have doctor so I came here because it is close to home. Every time I come they need all my information. Something is wrong with their computer system. I wanted to see a doctor, but only have seen a physicians assistant. I have never meet George Jackson Walker, and this now is my third visit. I made a 7am appointment, and the Physicians assistant is late. I can hope things go smoothly from now on, if they don’t, I may have to change doctors"

"My grandmother recently had a horrible visit, nurse Ramirez treated her awful. My grandmother has been going to this clinic for over 13 years and has never been treated the way. Mrs. Ramírez If you’re going to be in this line of work you need to learn how treat everyone with kindness and respect and not belittle them, treat others just like you would like to be treated if you went to a clinic to get checked. Very dissatisfied"

"I presented a pre surgical clearance from my knee doctor to my primary doctor at Wellmed. They insisted I make an appointment over month away interfering with my surgery. The day before my Wellmed appointment I was called and told they cannot see me because they needed reports and canceled my appointment. I said, that is why I made an appointment. Wellmed (Valarie-Dr Zuniga) refused to see me. A hospital representative even tried to talk to her but she insisted she needed reports. I was left with no hope of any help from Wellmed. Wellmed should fire Valarie and review their pre surgery clearance procedures. I missed my surgery and am in more pain. Wellmed is too busy to care. I changed doctors away from Wellmed. Avoid Wellmed if you need surgery."

"Went in for a scheduled appointment with Dr Famatigan who was lovely and a good listener and thorough. Have had some trouble breathing so I was given a breathing treatment and injection. I left but several hours later began having more severe breathing problems. Called to ask if i needed to go to ER or if there was anything else they could recommend, and I was put on hold by the MA. After evidently discussing it with other staff the MA said if I could get there before 5 they would do another breathing treatment on me, but if I couldn’t make it to go to the ER. I got there around 440, one of the front desk clerks was expecting me, but another woman there said if I had been seen once that day they couldn’t see me again. They discussed amongst themselves for awhile and then told a different MA, who said no I couldn’t be seen because I had already been there once that day. Their staff wasted my time and potentially put me into more risk as I was audibly having an asthma attack during the whole exchange. Wasted time that I could’ve had to be going to the emergency room already. I was told by the Care Manager “maybe the MA you spoke to thought the provider would say ok” and “well you didn’t say you’d already had one treatment today.” That reeks of excuses and incompetence and malpractice of their staff. They all had access to my notes and should all have the same training, and this situation shouldn’t have happened. Would’ve been 1 star if it wasn’t for Dr Famatigan’s wonderful bedside manner and professionalism."
