"If you haven’t taken a cooking class, sign up for one especially with Chef Monica. She’s fantastic and full of information. She gives great tips and advice on where to buy ingredients. She answers questions patiently and explains the why. Plus you get to eat what you make and then have the recipe to make at home. I’ve taken 3 classes so far and look forward to taking another class."
"It was fun because we went with friends, but this is not a meal and definitely not worth what you pay. It is a sampling of two appetizers. We made a salad and then a tiny little seared roast, which could have easily been a dinner for one person, but we had to split it 4 ways. There was no side dish for the roast except a thimble of rice. Seriously, a thimble of rice. Couldn't have been more than $20 worth of ingredients to feed 4 people who paid $90 each. Oh and it's byob. Dessert was a sampling of hot chocolate in something about the size of a shot glass, not even a whole cup. What you should do instead is take your $90 to a nice restaurant, let someone else do the cooking, and get enough food to actually fill you up. We had to go get food after the class because we were starving. Rice Box around the corner is very good, highly recommend"
"We had a ladies pasta making class for our clients with Chef Dominick, and we were blown away! Everyone had so much fun. Dominick has a very engaging personality and a great command of the room, and brought the cooking experience to life with his stories. We made Pappardelle with Tuscan Sausage and Caramelized Onion Ragù and Farfalle with Walnut Pesto, Lemon and Goat Cheese… absolutely amazing. I learned so much, not only about how to make pasta, but also some basics of cooking. We will absolutely look to have private events here in the future. Thank you Chef Dominick!"
"Call it a Cooking Observation & Food Prep class... My hubby and I received a gift certificate from our daughter for a "cooking" class. We booked our class at the Houston location and planned on making a weekend of it. When we got there, we were greeted and offered coffee. We were a bit early, so we browsed at all of the fun cooking and kitchen items. We had at least 3 people come up and ask us if we needed help...started feeling like a car dealership, but no worries at this point. We were called in for the class and we were put in groups of 4. Now here is where the disappointment comes in... We started with prep and for the FOUR of us, we had 2 teensy potatoes to peel and cut. We had 2 chicken breasts to season, a few herbs to strip, 2 small shallots to chop. The only cooking we did was to make a sauce for the chicken. For desert, (Creme Broullee) we each got a pre-made tin to put sugar on and did get to use a torch to brown it. The chef selected 1 couple to show us how to make Creme Broullee - we didn't get to make it. The young couple we were paired up with got there late, and while we were sharing the minimal activities, they oversalted our food, so it was barely edible. The food and class were overall disappointing. The chef was nice enough and gave us some great tips for prepping food. We were rushed, though, so they could get ready for the next class. We were given a 10% discount on any purchases in the store before we left. Again, we were a bit pestered by store staff. There was no way each of our meals were even close to a $70 meal even with the recipes and atmosphere. I will never attend a cooking event at this company again!"
"This is a pure review of the cooking class. Would definitely recommend taking a cooking class here. We did the Macroon baking class at 9am on a Saturday and were there until 12:30. Would recommend to do an evening or afternoon class. Our chef was great and she walked us through each step even though the class is with about 20people split in to groups of 4. Each group gets to not only bake their own but also help the chef along the process."
