"Was scared of how I was feeling when I arrived. But staff made it so comfortable and assured me everything would be alright. ER ICU staff was amazing. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. "Newest Update (February 24, 2024): I just received the final bill from HMC. As expected, the billing department didn't change/modify the bill, even though I brought it to their attention via Google review on Jan 30, 2024. Unfortunately, I was forced to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I will be waiting for the BBB to go through the formal process before I give you any update. I'm hoping that HMC will consider resolving this issue in order to avoid damaging its rating and reputation. I will definitely keep you posted. NEW UPDATE (Jan 30, 2024): I just viewed the two claims processed by my health insurance. Unfortunately, HMC filed two inflated and exaggerated claims (one claim for $3100 and another for $1324 claim: Total $4424) just to diagnose me with Flu A. This ridiculous amount is so outrageous and over the top, to say the least. Although BCBS discounted the price, the remaining balance is too much for anyone to digest or accept. I'm waiting for the billing department to send me the final bill before I file a formal complaint with the BBB. I just had this weird feeling that these people were going to overcharge me after seeing a NP and nurse for less than 10 minutes. The emergency staff ordered three tests (Covid, Flu A and Flu B) and gave me two Tylenol pills for the fever. Let's see how they are going to handle it. Will keep you posted. I'm changing the review to 2 stars because of the recent billing. I still think the medical staff deserves 4 stars for the service I received, but the billing department messed it up. My original review before the new update: I was very impressed with my first experience going to the emergency room at HMC. Although I was expecting to be there for hours, my entire visit lasted less than two hours. I was called in almost 5 minutes after signing the initial documents provided by the receptionist. I was disappointed since this young lady didn't even acknowledge us, even though we were standing in front of the glass barrier (That is why I gave it 4 stars). She was busy looking at the computer monitor, instead of paying attention to the patients arriving. I do understand that this job might be depressing or unpleasant dealing with trauma, but this is the first person you encounter at the emergency room, which doesn't leave a great impression, to say the least. The rest of the visit was delightful since the two nurses and doctor (I'm not sure if he is a doctor, but he introduced himself as "Jack"). It was so obvious that Jack is so excited to take care of patients who might need medical care. I can hear his compassion and care as he was talking to this lady right next to my area. He is super fast and right to the point. The two nurses were so sweet as they cared for me during the entire visit. I even noticed that the custodial staff were working hard to ensure the area was disinfected and clean. I highly recommend this hospital if you ever need to get emergency care. I'm just holding my breath waiting to see if the billing department will go crazy by submitting exaggerated claim that doesn't add up. I will definitely come back and modify the review once I see the final claim processed. Let's hope for the best."

"My experience at this facility would’ve been five star, had it not been for the nurse the second evening I was there at the center, when I asked for assistance she asked me “what I needed her to do because she didn’t know what to do” I hurt myself a little bit when I was trying to use the facilities because she didn’t give me a walker although I had just had a total knee replacement her nurse assistant did the same thing the second time I got up, finally the third time I told him I had to use the walker. The other thing is housekeeping could do a little bit better when they go in and clean the rooms, the employee just kind of like wipes around items and didn’t clean off my hospital bed tray it was just like a sloppy cleaning. Other than those two things the staff there was excellent with me even the therapist, would I recommend someone to go and get any kind of surgery there, definitely I would!!!"
