"Campers beware. We had a family emergency and had to cancel our week at CAMP ON THE KENTUCKY. I gave them almost 3 weeks notice. This is the reply I finally got after a week of trying to get a response. I also sent him hospital discharge papers as proof of the situation. "Well, as of now, we have a no refund policy so I feel I'm being very generous, that said, our time is not free. I'm sorry for you current situation and I wish you and your family all the best.""
"I absolutely love this place everyone's really friendly. It's clean and right by the river. Excellent camping for primitive camping. Water hook ups. Electric hook ups. Plenty of space, even for larger camper trailers and RVs. It's right next to the river offer's a boat ramp with great accessibility. Has a general store on site with restrooms and even has showers. There is a small play ground for the kids."
"No frills RV park. The pictures are true. What you see is what you get. The beautiful Kentucky River flows right beside the park. Access could be a bit better. We have enjoyed our stay. Be prepared for no WiFi service."
"Quick stop for a nightly tent camp. Tent spots are grassy and flat. Very comfortable and reasonable $25 ($30 with taxes) for a tent site with an electric outlet (only four of these sites). The campground appears to be having some infrastructure improvements to the road and bathrooms. Bathhouse rest rooms are pretty small, not sure how they would handle a packed campground. The views of the Kentucky River are wonderful. Overall, I would def stay here again."
"I brought my 3 daughters camping via tent. We arrived on a Friday afternoon. Site is $75. My kid got yelled at by the owner for taking a shower( she had an accident, it was a quick shower). Shortly after the incident the campground dog charged after me and my toddler. I had to drag my baby and run away from the dog so the chain can run out of slack. After that mini heart attack we decided to leave, I'm not dealing with all of that. Left Saturday afternoon staying there just shy of a full day. It was very uncomfortable getting side eyed to use their bathrooms. Very disappointed. For $75/2 nights, I expected the bare minimum. The only reason I can think of is the owners wanting to save water bill money but our prepaid campsite fee would cover an extra shower. My fault for wanting to stay local this weekend. Grounds are well maintained though, you can see in the picture where we pitched the tent. There is also a small playground too. I do believe there is a gentleman that lives there full time and was outside naked. Would not personally come back."
