"A quiet peaceful patch of the outdoors right in the heart of Prospect. The walking trail meets up to Putneys Pond - which looks the same as it did in 1972. Gorgeous. Filled with fish and surrounded by the local deer and wildlife! A Prospect treasure for sure! Perfect spot for watching wk DC c"
"This hidden gem can be found right off of US-42 and Timber Ridge Rd in Prospect, KY. We had a little trouble parking at first since there is a sign stating no parking in the cul-de-sac, but we parked on the pond side of the road facing the entrance with no problems. The trail around the pond is paved and leads to US-42, it is not a long walk but shaded in most areas and is nice. It is wheelchair accessible with a picnic area. The pond is filled with a variety of wildlife, we saw a white herring, turtles and carp skimming the water. The trailhead that leads into the woods is to the right of the no parking sign and a private driveway. The hike is very shaded, with various terrain and is an easy hike. I would recommend good shoes or boots, if it has rained. There is a creek that runs throughout the woods with a few bridges that cross over it. I look forward to returning after a good rain to see it in motion. We saw a variety of birds, lizards and deer. We had no problems with ticks but there were a couple spiderwebs blocking the path. I am glad a friend happened to stumble upon it the other day and recommend checking it out, it was definitely worth it."
"Great place to walk, not so much to fish though. Pretty shallow and very murky pond that you can't really access without a kayak"
"Hidden gem. Great for a stroll. You could hike or run the trails for a good workout, bit it's not very long. Scenic with benches and a swing by the pond. Get a drink at Starbucks and walk it. Good first day date."
"A hidden gem, right in Prospect. Great trail, not too difficult of inclines. Nice seating to unwind and take it all in."
