"Perfection, if a hotel could be perfect, this one is. Aside from the difficulty getting to the hotel because of interstate work right now (2024 spring) it is the best place I've been, and I have traveled for work for 20 years."

"The staff is running this place down, very unprofessional. First you have to hunt them down because they aren't at their job post. Their attire implies they don't care and don't own a hairbrush. The cook has a full head of long hair and long beard with no hair net. The buffet was empty during the breakfast times. The amenities and room were nice."

"This place has gotten really dumpy and it’s evident that the staff just don’t care. I reserved the king suite at $275/night: sticky floors, bare bones amenities and something more akin to a dorm room than a king suite are exactly what you’ll find here. Bare walls, virtually no “suite like” appointments and the smallest TV I’ve ever seen protruding from the curtains in the corner of this very minimalist room. Oh yeah, better take care of any reading while the sun is up because this empty airplane hangar has a single light in the corner. It’s a poor value for an embarrassingly appointed/decorated room- but the sticky floors are complimentary. I’m done with Hilton properties and the Hilton Garden Inn San Marcos is the reason why."

"Nasty isn’t a word to describe this so called hotel, avoid at any cost. We booked the room at this place it was close to the place where I should be early morning, as soon as i stepped in I asked front desk guy about cleanliness of the rooms he assured me that it’s all great, since it was late we went to our room, first is the smell like rooms were never cleaned, I decided to stay anyway, and went to bed, sheets and everything in the bed were moisture, to the point that even with sleeping pills I couldn’t fall asleep, after about 30 minutes went to front desk where couldn’t find anyone, guy probably went to sleep or something, so I packed my stuff and had to go to Austin to find a decent hotel, contacted the place to talk to a manager obviously nobody would give a s$$$t about anything. So if you want to sleep in a hotel in that area find something else, I don’t even think it’s a x2 hotel, the place more like a filthy cheap motel."

"Quite a step up from the usual hotel stays. You get what you pay for though, and at this price point, it was great. The pool was awesome, the room was terrific and the breakfast was above average. Very comfy bed and really nice shower. Little details make the big differences though. Lysol wipes in the hallways, amenities inside the rooms, really good towels. Spend the extra money and treat yourselves, it will be worth it."
