Hyatt Vacation Club At Wild Oak Ranch

"We loved our stay. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. We didn’t witness anything but excellence. From the time of check in, Mya was friendly, informative and professional. We had a second floor 2 bed 2 bath room. The quality of the room was exceptional. We did have to call maintenance because my son accidentally locked the bathroom door, they arrived within minutes! The service team member was friendly and professional as well! This was our first time in SA so we did a lot of the tourist stuff- recommend the historic market place, river walk, Alamo. Natural caverns, stop at Buc-ees and outlet shopping all within 40 min! We had a blast!! I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and lazy river, both were clean and well maintained! The lazy river was not heated, but weather was in our favor and 85 degree days. For this Boston / New Englander it was refreshing and fun!! We arrived back late most nights and the parking lots were well lit as well as staff driving around on golf carts. As a mama it was a safe and secure feeling for myself and family. I will absolutely stay here again and highly recommend for family and those that want a home away from home feel. Thank you Wild Oak Ranch. To the GM you have a phenomenal staff! Cheers!"

"This resort was really nice. It had really good amenities, including a gym, a lazy river, pools, jacuzzi and even a water slide! The rooms were sizeable. One thing I did not like was the waitress at the on-site restaurant. She was not friendly at all, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. I loved that the resort was not crowded during the time we went (weekdays in February). I’ll definitely come back if I’m in San Antonio again."

"Really enjoyed our family weekend getaway. This property is amazing and highly recommend you check it out overall. I would say that the service was REALLY sparse - but granted it was also off peak / off season when we went. I hope management at this property realizes what they have and continues to improve because this can be a really great place."

"I stayed at this property, which seemed to be more focused on time-sharing. Unfortunately, during my stay, there was no hot water in the bathroom most of the time. The heating system didn't seem to work properly and the bathroom decor appeared to be outdated. The windows and patio doors also lacked proper insulation, which made the room quite cold. In addition, the indoor pool's heater was broken. It was disappointing to see that the resort was only 10 to 20% occupied, yet they still didn't handle their maintenance properly. They didn't mention that housekeeping came with an extra charge, which I found out later. If you want housekeeping, it will cost you $30 for bathroom cleaning and $70 for full cleaning per day, which is quite unreasonable. Overall, I would not recommend this property."

"I enjoyed the property and amenities, they were very nice and clean. The staff is another story. I don’t think I’ve ever interacted with such rude staff at any property before. During check-in they did not go over much nor acknowledge my Hyatt status, which does provide me with some perks. The lady pretty much told me “we’re charging you (X amount) in case something goes missing”. Yikes.. I understand deposits are required in case of incidentals but there are more professional and prudent ways to communicate this. I requested extra pillows, as I have back problems and the response I received was an annoyed tone stating “I don’t know if we have that many pillows”. Again, there was better ways to communicate this. Prior to time to check-out, I received a note in my villa saying they had a gift for me which I thought was really nice and was excited about. As I went to check-out, I handed them the note and stood there waiting for my gift. They did not acknowledge it or even stand from their desk to interact with me or get the gift for me. After a few moments of just standing there waiting, I just left without the gift. It’s honestly a disappointing experience, they way you are treated by staff makes a huge impact on your stay and willingness to return or recommend a place to others. I kind of wish I had stayed at a different Hyatt where they would have been more professional and kind, and of course, recognized the perks offered to me by my Hyatt status (like free breakfast, no resort fees, etc.) If it weren’t for my poor interactions with the staff, I would have given this 5 stars."
