"Our heat pump stopped working in Nov, so my husband called 3 HVAC companies to come out and give us a bid to fix and/or replace. Huey (the owner at Macs) was the last one to come out. He said what the other companies said which is the compressor needed to be replaced. He said he would have a bid to us by Mon (it was currently Fri). We didn't hear from him on Mon so called and left a message on Wed. We didn't get a call from Huey until the following Thurs (2 weeks after he came to the house). As a result, we went with another company who was actually a bit more expensive as we were concerned if it took him 2 weeks to provide an estimate, what would we do in an emergency. To my surprise, we got a $90 service call bill in the mail a couple weeks later. He never mentioned anything about a charge to come out but now expected me to pay for receiving terrible response time. I talked to his office and also Huey but they did not care about our perspective. Looks like similar things has happened to other reviewer so buyer beware."

"Mac's is really good at what they do. He comes when he says he will, is very knowledgable, and is not overpriced. He is the best we have ever had to work on our furnace."

"I woke up to no heat, called Mac's and they were able to come on same day I called, found the problem fixed and had my heat running again in no time, very professional and answered all my questions, will be calling them again when warmer temps arrive to have AC serviced. "We have a weekend property on Lake Barkley and have used Mac's for the past 10 years for all of our plumbing and electrical needs. Recently, we used them to replace two lanai fans and to repair a leaky faucet. They did a very nice job and charged me $138 which I thought was very reasonable. I have always found them to be honest, reliable and competent in all they have done for us. I ail continue to use them!"

"Installed ceiling fans but there were problems and was asked to come back to address concerns. He charged $120 to come back out. The charge was never mentioned before hand or the final amount before coming out. He said his drive time is one hour, included in the charge, but Google maps says 30 minutes at best to get to my location! Bottom line: never assume!"
