German American Bank

"Since German American bought out CUBS, I had to close my savings account because they began to charge a monthly fee. I was below their newly established minimum account balance even though I maintained a balance far and above my checking account balance. The ATM cards that were provided did not work in their ATM because the machine said I was using . When I called customer service, I was forwarded to an automated service that was supposed to allow me to change my pin. All the service did was keep me in a never-ending cycle that never changed my pin. I finally got connected with a live body and I explained what was happening. She said that she tried and the system worked fine. I made three more attempts that, again, cycled me back to the beginning of the process. I never got to change my pin. I know my original pin (password) was correct, so I went back to the ATM at the branch in Taylorsville and tried again to withdraw money. When I inserted my card the machine flashed a message that the machine was temporarily out of order and to try later. I tried again four days later and got the same message. When I got home and called the same number I used prior and failed to get an answer. So now, I am visiting an other bank. I am done with German American."

"I would rather go 30 minutes out of my way to bank with German American in Middletown than go here. The customer service is atrocious. Last time we went here our manager forgot to sign 2 of our checks and the staff treated us like we were suspicious hooligans. The way they treated us made us extremely uncomfortable. During the same visit, we asked to cash all of our multiple checks and instead they put several of them in our bank accounts. Everytime my partner and I have gone here we leave feeling uncomfortable with the demeanor of the staff and complete lack of friendliness. My partner and I will never forget the treatment and will never bank here at this location again. Wish I could give 0 stars."

"Been banking with these folks for over 20 years now. Never had an issue. That lady ( Samantha ) is wrong about Gail. She's nice as can be and I wasn't paid to say that. Honest."

"Would not recommend this bank to anyone unless they prefer bad customer service. What ever happened to the rule "The customer is always right"? Gail Waldridge finds it very amusing when customers have a bad experience at this branch."
