Reviews
"We had our first appointment for our 18 month old yesterday. We were transitioning from another office since we have moved. Our experience was great. Tim was amazing during the intake process and Dr. Swisher was great with our son Owen. So glad we have a great group of pediatricians close to home."
"It’s taken me a few months to finally put a review on here as I felt it would cause personal conflict, but after hearing a few of my friends experiences being similar I felt the owners should know of the experience my family had. My daughter has been through it when it came to being sick early on as a newborn. A lot of my concerns were dismissed as not a big deal and not a problem. She was misdiagnosed and given antibiotics when they were not needed and this was even told to me by the dr that they didn’t believe she really had the problems they were diagnosing her with. I was told she did not have any ties in her mouth and she does which has led to her having difficulty swallowing that now is being corrected with speech therapy and having the ties cut much later than I wanted them to be. She’s now in a cranial remolding helmet and it will never be fully fixed because we started treatment so late because the Dr said she was fine. Along with several other concerns that I felt was important but was blown off now her new dr is trying to fix. The last time she was misdiagnosed I took her to Norton to get a second opinion which further proved what she was diagnosed with at POBC was not accurate I received a phone call stating i would “not be welcomed back” and “some people just don’t know how we do things here”. So because I felt I needed a second opinion after numerous issues I could not bring my child back. I’ve never heard of a healthcare provider denying someone healthcare especially a baby after that office had been the problem. The only positives of this office for us was the few times we saw dr. Thurman who I would’ve seen exclusively after the other doctors misdiagnoses if the front office staff manager hadn’t said we could not come back. We visited the Shepherdsville location before and I would recommend that location over Mt. Washington, dr woodring was great. But again because we weren’t welcome to come back we switched to a different pediatrician office completely. I truly believe there are great drs here given the fact we continued to come back time and time again. There are major positives but the office staff made it impossible for us to continue to come here."
"EDIT: Changed from 1 to 5 stars Every experience we've had with this office has been incredible since that last hiccup. I highly recommend this office. We've had nothing but great experiences with this office since we've started taking our son here. But our son has an issue where he spits up majority of what we feed him and has gotten to the point where he sometimes has a hard time catching his breath after he spits up and occasionally becomes constipated. We're first time parents so we're learning on the fly but we still reach out to the office and after hours number if we need to. Because of this issue, we've had to call a few times and each time we're given the same responses, "try feeding him less more often, sit him up after eating, have you tried probiotics, pace feeding, etc." We've tried all of these recommendations given to us and the problem persists. We were then given recommendations to change to specific formulas. Currently, formula is very difficult to come by so we get what we can get, but we have been able to get our hands on some cans of the recommended formula. Because we're changing our son's formula, it seems to aggravate the symptoms he has. And when we call about it one day, they tell us we shouldn't be switching his formula so often and the next day they'll tell us to switch. As stated before, we're new parents and we're just wanting to do the best for our son so obviously we're going to listen to what his pediatrician says, but when you get conflicting information, it can get frustrating. Although it's been frustrating, we understand the staff here has been doing their best and we've still had great experiences here and trust the doctors. But what actually made me upset enough to write this review was the experience we had tonight calling the after hours number. Again, as stated before, he just recently started choking and has a difficult time catching his breath after spitting up. It happened 3 times within the span of an hour so obviously we were worried about what to do so we called the after hours line again like we're encouraged to do when we visit the office. We're told we're not bothering anyone when we call because that's what it's there for. And since we get the same list of questions every time we call and no results, we asked to speak with the doctor on call. We eventually received a phone call from Jennifer Pentecost, who made it very obvious from the second we said "hello" she was very frustrated with the fact she had to call us. Our first office visit with Jennifer, she even told us "use the after hours service, we pay a lot of money for it," and "use it, even if it's just for advice." But we felt stupid for calling it tonight. The other staff we spoke to was very nice, but not Jennifer. She came across as if it didn't seem necessary for her to call for this issue. She was so rude and condescending to us and even said "I don't know what you want me to say, if you're that worried take him to the ER." She then scolded us for switching his formula so often. The only reason we've changed it is at the recommendation of this office. Again, we were told to call this number for when we didn't know what to do. And that's the only reason we called. This experience tonight honestly made us second guess ourselves with choosing this office to take our son to. But our experiences with Dr. Thurman and Dr. Lewis have been amazing. They were so good with our son and made us feel like we made the right decision taking our son here and we would love to continue to do so with either of them. But the phone call that we had tonight was not OK."
"Love this place and fully trust this staff! We see Dr. Beau S and he's amazing. Highly recommend."
"Our kids have been going here for 4 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful and all the providers we have seen have all been great."
