Reviews of Physical Therapy Associates Inc
"I had surgery on my right knee so I had to do physical therapy. I would highly recommend PTA Associates. The staff there was amazing. If I ever have to do physical therapy in the future they are diffently where I am going."
"PTA simply reads the report from your MRI even if it is old and makes a plan from there. Previously, they would look at the disc from your MRI. I had a really bad experience at this location, with David specifically. I actually thought he might hit me and I only went there a few times. Unfortunately, I told David my neck was really bad, but he just thought he knew better. The first day he did traction of 12 pounds on my neck without any warm up of any sort. I ended up in pain of course. I am 54 years old. Turns out I have two herniated discs in my neck. I have narrowing with formenia. I went to PTA to get a new MRI, my insurance insisted. It just continued to get worse. My symptoms just multiplied. I couldn't think clearly, pain in my neck, shoulder, jaw and head. I ended up with pain in my heart. I clearly communicated all of the issues I was having but I doubt if it was even documented. I was not nice about it. They were not listening. Once, I had pain in my heart I went to the ER. I was there for about 6 hours. I was given steroids in one hip and pain medication in the other. It was the nerve and no wonder. I do not recommend this PTA. I have had good experiences in Elizabethtown and Hodgenville, but this facility avoid. The physical therapists don't care what they are doing."
"I am truly grateful for the entire team at Physical Therapy Associates in Radcliff! They were simply incredible during my rehab process after having a total knee replacement. On my rough days ( I had quite a few) they made me laugh, encouraged me and helped me through it. When I asked for a more challenging home exercise program the papers were in my hand with an explanation of each exercise and reps before I left that day. There is no doubt I will return to this location for rehab on the spring for the other knee. I cannot recommend them enough."
"Do not take into consideration a person's injuries, exercises assigned on 2nd day of therapy...I fell of 26 foot wall, with lots of injuries to my right leg on August 6th. You cannot expect a patient who has not used their leg other then peg leg, immobilizer, and been on crutches for impaction fracture in fibula and torn miniscus in both sides of same knee. My leg is still swollen from my hip all the way down to my toes. Almost like starting from scratch to relearn to use leg again. To go into exercises with no warm up or stretches prior to assigned tasks. And when person tells you the thing you asked them to do is hurting/you need to recalculate the assigned task. Instead of walking off and into corner office chit chatting and laughing with Co-workers, instead of paying attention to patient was saying. First assigned task was to put toes on slanted board and lean into the wall, putting direct pressure on fractured area. Which created pain equivalent to date of initial injury. Then next exercise after telling them you could not continue board exercise was to one hand on side of tread mill and force already pained area to stand on toes. When unable to hold that long enough. Put onto stationary bicycle/with a double torn miniscus in one leg, and popped loud enough could be heard by other patients and was excruciatingly painful. And walking away from someone who is their first time there on the floor and expecting them to continue. When they told you it hurt them from first time they put foot on board. But was more important to go and chit chat with co-workers instead of helping the patient. Sad when another one of the workers there had to get your attention, while working on another patient. To get you to come back out on the floor to help me, because I could not perform assigned task. Then you act like I am an inconvenience to you when you have to stop chit chatting and laughing with co-workers to come back out to the floor. Expectations to use a leg as if it was healthy enough to do those things with no warm ups prior. Not sure but now my leg is more swollen then when I started there. Everyone else had person working with them 1 on 1, except me. Canceled all future appointment with this facility due to feeling as if they did not care for my need to get better. And obviously if you all had looked at my leg at all you would have realized it is still double size of good leg. Which means the injuries are still prominent. Last dr. Visit could see beginning of calcium deposits on fracture, which was same day I scheduled my initial appointment. I explained also the permanent nerve damage from fracture, which you all acted like that meant nothing. Well let me tell you what that feels like since you would not listen while I was there. It feels like there is a butcher knife lodged in leg, from fracture area diagnally through my calf. My pain level when I arrived day 1 was a 9. This morning upon arrival was a 9. Upon leaving was a 10. Even with failed attempts at exercises and hooking leg to machine. First off I do not know why there was not lighter weight exercises for beginner. Example leg lifts, knee bends, pointing and pulling back toes etc. even those lightweight things are a challenge for me, should have been done prior to any of those exercises to warm it up especially knowing it had not been used other then peg leg style since August 6th of 2016. Never asked me my daily habits or routines. Or would have known since initial injury i have not even returned to work at regular capacity (desk work only). And i was not ask like I heard other being told and asked if something hurt to bad to let them know. So maybe my insurance not good enough, or maybe person assigned to me would rather be chit chatting and laughing with Co-workers instead of doing their job. Not sure, what the issue was but was very disheartening. Exercises I was sent home with after first visit v/s what they asked me to do in office was totally opposite. So maybe someone did not read chart after initial visit and see that exercises were different."
"Go some place else if you want to be treated and get better. The physical therapist is "okay" but presented no assessment or plan of action. This includes not asking my daily routine and physical requirements for work and regular activity. Was not thorough in his assessment and after 4 weeks I requested that the insurance company assign me to another therapist. The staff is unknowledgeable. I could have read the charts myself and made better use of my time. The staff does not appear interested in their own physical fitness nor that of the clients. Their focus is on what fast food to eat for lunch and the television. If that's not unprofessional enough the TV programs played in the therapy room include The View, Hollywood Access, and other similar smut. By the way the place is filthy. Make sure to use the toilet at home. One time I "had" to go so I stopped at the McDonald's down the road prior to my appointment. Much cleaner!"
