"I'm writing this with a bit of sadness because I'm currently looking up trying to find another daycare because in a few months I wont be able to afford childcare here and all the reviews I have been seeing everywhere else just frighten me to death. This place although high turnover at times has managed to continuously give there best care to my son. I was a first time mom and going through some health issues with my son around 8 months and I am telling you the staff is like family. Everyone cared and wanted to help us out, out of their own willingness their own heart and they did. since then they have maintain the same level of care and communication and if there is ever an issue I feel comfortable addressing it and speaking with them and vice versa. As far as tuition its bonkers to say the least I only afford it cause yes i am currently working for a tech company they offer a discount and i am one of the ones that got priority back in 2021 and since I am loosing my job they have mentioned it is an incredibly big and outrageously long wait-list not even a co worker who was looking for care months ago was able to get in . They also take ccs or ccms whatever its called although limited. They are on top of it as far as reporting incidents of all kinds I mean A+. Very diligent about food allergies and about caring there bags outside that contain kids meds e.t.c. for emergencies. Overall again Im super sad I mean nowhere is perfect but any issues Ive had here have been minor and or resloved not much to complain about again just the tuition. Its been awesome to see my son and the other kids grow and the staff too . I hope this helps in your search for a place for your kids if you can get in that is. *also leaving a 4 star because again tuition is high so gotta be realistic with my review"
"I'm sure it is a wonderful place to send your children, but here is a warning to any one beginning their research into childcare options, re: waitlist. They have a contract with the tech firms where children of their employees get waitlist priority over other families. After we took a tour (nearly a year before we would begin sending our baby to daycare) we were asked about our jobs. When we informed them that we work in the public sector, there was a little chuckle, like she knew we were not in the right tax bracket to be considering them, before telling us that we would be placed lower on the waitlist. In hindsight I'm glad we found out early about this contract because I can't imagine sending my kid somewhere so elitist."
"I can’t speak to the level of care but this review is in regards to the waitlist process. We toured the facility in February with an expected start date of mid September. We were assured that we would not need to worry about having a spot available for us as we were signing up so early. So we paid the waitlist deposit. Mid June we heard back that they did not have a spot for us. We were left scrambling to find alternate child care, which fortunately we did. They then refused to refund our $150 waitlist deposit."
"I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience has been with Bright Horizons, and specifically, our center at Braker Lane. Our daughter was born during the pandemic, and like many parents, we were hesitant about introducing her to a childcare setting before a vaccine for her age group became available. With the vaccine for under 5 still unavailable, we needed to explore options for her education and care that provided a safe, healthy environment for her to make friends while getting the developmental and emotional support needed for a toddler. Enter, BH @ Braker Lane. I worked with one of BH's enrollment managers to help schedule my center tour (which was virtual - which I appreciated as it is providing additional safety measures for the children). Even better - my tour was scheduled with the lead Toddler teacher (Mindy) so I was able to meet the person responsible for leading the toddler curriculum. I got to learn more about their health and safety, as well as education philosophy and accreditations - while getting an up close look at the facilities. After my tour, it was clear that this is where we wanted to enroll our daughter (it also helped that they are so close to Q2 stadium - which was great for our Austin FC loving family). My daughter has been in the Toddler class for just about 2 months, now. Her teachers have worked closely with her to help her adjust to the classroom environment. She is now drinking from an open cup, eating with utensils, sleeping without a paci, and already holding a pencil like a preschooler! Her vocabulary has at least doubled (she now wakes up most mornings asking for her "teacher") and is only a few letters away from being able to say the whole alphabet. She loves the center's multiple (age appropriate) outdoor play grounds, indoor movement room, outdoor art studio, and now walks right into the classroom every morning without looking back to say good-bye... she's just so excited to get in the room and start playing! For me, it's so important that I am able to stay connected with my daughter throughout the day, and the center mobile app gives me visibility into what she is up to every second of the day. I know what she's eating (there's an amazing chef onsite providing snacks and lunches), when she's changed, when she naps, and I get a ton of pictures of her doing activities and making friends. I am so grateful for the hard work her teachers put into making sure she gets the individual attention I always hopped for, and for making sure she is safe, healthy, happy, and learning all day long. I highly recommend this center if you are considering enrolling your child!"
"My 4 year old son has attended Bright Horizons Braker since he was 7 months old. My husband and I visited a few other schools in the area but we knew when we met school Director Michelle and Asst Dir Lily we had found the right school! We have been through all classes (infant, toddler, twos, preschool and are now in kinder prep) Over the years the staff has become like family. We've also made friends with several of the parents outside of school which has been great! We've never had an issue with any of our son's teachers (they are all very qualified and have extensive experience with young children) and feel the children receive exemplary care and guidance during their time at Bright Horizons. The teachers, along with Center Director Michelle and Asst Dir Lily are always available to talk about anything, they really get to know all of the children very well as well as the parents. We enjoy the parent/teacher conferences which allow undivided time to discuss your child's growth and development. The center is always very clean, classrooms are well appointed and regular activities are planned (Chinese New Year parade, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Splash Days in summertime, etc.) We've also always felt the children eat very well. The school menu is fresh, delicious and varied including organic milk and vegetarian options. Many mornings the whole center smells so good I want to come back at lunch and eat :) Bright Horizons Braker is conveniently located close to all major roads and employers in the area. We've been very happy with our son's time at Bright Horizons Braker and will be sad to leave when he starts elementary school in the fall"
