"Until recently, I had never had a complaint about Humana. This year I switched to a HumanaChoice Plan H5216 304. This plan advertises $2000 dental yearly coverage. Good luck trying to get reimbursed by Humana. First of all the great majority of dentists in Citrus County Fl do not accept Humana. You have to pay up front and then apply for reimbursement. I have been battling with Humana since May. I paid the dentist, I have my receipt and still they want the dentist to provide their notes, charts, x-rays. Reason for the procedure and any previous problems with the teeth involved. Humana will wear you out until you give up. Do not believe what this plan advertises. Sep 14, 2023 I filed an appeal to try to be reimbursed. Still no positive action on the part of Humana. This is an ongoing battle since May 2023. UPDATE After months of trying to get reimbursed,HUMANA honored what their plan offered. I was reimbursed for $1800.00. I guess it pays to complain and speak up."

"All my fillings have been downgraded to amalgam fillings in the past that only cover a tiny portion of the total bill. I do not see the benefit of having Humana insurance. Seems more like a scam."

"I am totally disgusted with Humana. They do not stand behind their insureds. I have had several providers give me less than competent care and two providers actually balance billed me for services not rendered. They refused to help me with either of the later situations. I recommend you search for a reputable health care company elsewhere."

"Humana did not do two-factor authentication on the e-mail address used in the sign-up process. This means that I am spammed, in the name of someone called Peter, relentlessly and probably have the kind of access to that person's account that would be letting strangers have total access to someone's confidential health information. Not a great look? I hear Americans care about that kind of thing. What kind of health care service doesn't verify e-mail addresses upon sign-up? Absolute madness."

"I called Humana to get an out of pocket cost for an Entyvio infusion before I had it done. They told me my part would be $364 I talked to 4 different people and they all told me the same price so I had it done. The way Entyvio works I had 4 infusions done before I got my first bill. When I got my bill it was not $364 it was over $2700 for each one . ( $2700x4 ). So I have called Humana and filed an appeal twice and both appeals were denied. They keep saying that I am responsible for 20% which is why I called to see what my part would be 4 times. I will be finding new insurance and will be telling everyone about this if they do not do the right thing and fix this. I had a hip replacement and all I had to pay was what they told me when I called to see what my out of pocket would be. So that’s why I trusted them this time. Humana Do the right thing and fix this"
