"My wife and I enjoy this place; we try to get there every year. Owners live on the property. most of the cabins are on the lake at the waters edge. We have caught fish from the deck. I believe we have started at all the cabins along the lake. Used the hot tubs, fireplaces, grill, every time. Few problems that occurred were corrected quickly. 2 person boats were great for fishing. Each cabin has a boat and a dock. just had to move battery to charging station and back. It would be great to have charging station at boatside so you could charge without removing the battery. Even better if there were a covered slip at each boat dock. Good hiking on the property. Love this place!"
"Dirty. Windows filthy. Dozen dirt dobber nests in eaves. Cob webs every where. Broken swing. Old bird's nest over light at main door. Dirty door knob and all around door knob inside and out main door. Sofa broken. About half of light bulbs burned out. Everything old , outdated, dusty. Glasses in cabinet dirty. Water horrible taste, undrinkable. Had to buy water. Did not use boat but someone did and left trash in boat. Rodent problem. Horrible noise all night. Too scared to sleep. It was mouse!! Half dead in trap , running about dragging trap and clanging under metal table in kitchen . Finally saw around 2 AM which was when I should have called owners to come get. (Did not want to wake up elderly lady who was limping when she checked us in . Never saw any one else. ) Close, sell or take care of property. Road unsafe for no reason. Not built in side of mountain. Does not have to be one lane or have treacherous drop-offs . Hopefully closed when weather bad. Poor quality grocery and local restaurants so bring what you might need. Just dirty , old, fishing cabin."
"I've been going here 20+ years. It is a piece of heaven on earth. Cabins are all great! It's very quiet and the sky, oh the sky at night is gorgeous! There's a boat, for the private lake, at every cabin included in price. Appliances are all kept up as is everything! It's beautiful and so are the owners, Patti and Larry. We love it!"
"My wife and I had a nice weekend here. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub on the cool nights. The cabin could definitely have used some updating. The TV was maybe a 24" which made watching movies a bit difficult sitting on the couch. The cookware was terrible, very scratched up non-stick pans. We actually drove into the little town nearby to buy our own because the ones at the cabin were essentially unusable. The water had a pretty bad taste so make sure you bring bottled water for drinking. Other than that, we had a pleasant weekend in a cozy cabin overlooking a lake."
"PROS: gas grill as opposed to charcoal grill, working hot tub and gas fireplace. Atmosphere is peaceful and private. Owners are a very nice older couple. Great place to kick back with your dogs and do some fishing. CONS: better as a fishing cabin than a family retreat. Our cabin was cramped for 4 people, and it was was also dated and a bit dirty. This cabin had an annoying ant problem. Also it was an inconvenience to drive to the office everyday for clean towels. The bed was very old and uncomfortable and the furniture was worn and dusty. We liked to watch movies at night and the DVD and cable were both not working the entire time. We have stayed in many cabins in about the same price range and this is not what we look for in a family or couples get away. But if you are not particular about the comforts of home and just need a place to hang you hat and fish then it might be for you."
