"If you’re a fan of Jerry Springer, Maury Povich and Steve Wilkos then this is the place for you. I went to Madison for a hunting trip with my buddy and decided to save $30 booking this place vs the one down the road. After hunting we pulled into the hotel parking lot and had the cops pull in right behind us. But no worries they weren’t there for us they were there for the drunk people that were drunk before we even showed up (around 8 pm). Everything settled down then a half hour later the cops showed up a second time for another disturbance. No big deal they take care of it and everything settles down again. Then its bedtime and I really need some sleep because I got up early for hunting and it’s been a long day with a lot of walking but oh no the drunk people are right outside your door now, its fine though if you’re into that sort of thing. You’ve got the slow talking and they don’t make any sense screaming at each other then theres that drunk guy with no shirt walking around the parking lot (in the cold) with a bottle of booze and he’s yelling at someone because they’re trying to leave because they have decided that they don’t want to be part of the entertainment anymore. Ok then its fine they’re calming down now. Then comes 10 o clock and they’re back at it again maybe we should call the office and let them know… but there’s no way the office can’t here them from there because it’s so loud. Did they just bang on our door ? because it’s so ridiculously loud, No they’re just wrestling outside our room on the balcony. Ok they’re calming down yet again, but I’m going to take a sleeping pill just in case so I can sleep through it if it happens again. Now it’s 11 O’clock they’re doing it again. Take a sleeping pill, did I already take one at 10? Can’t remember but I have to sleep through this because I have to be up at 4:30 because I drove 3.5 hours to come here for a hunting trip that’s why were in a hotel. At least we got a free show and saved $30. Ok now its midnight what is going on? They’re at it again. Now they’re slamming the doors screaming and at this point it’s just hilarious or maybe I’m just delirious from exhaustion. It’s an involuntary viewing of the Springer show. Cops are here again and it sounds like someones getting arrested so I should be able to get some sleep after this at least ill get 4.5 hours of sleep even though I went to bed at 9. And after the Springer show Oprah is on next and she’s giving things away go ahead and take a look but instead of car keys under your seat you have bedbugs under your pillow. Ive never experienced the sensation of bedbug bites before. Just make sure in room 244 you sleep in the bed closest to the bathroom because that’s the bed I got. My hunting buddy wasn’t so lucky he didn’t get any free gifts from his bed. Lucky me. Free of charge. And that’s great because upon arriving home my wife informed me that im not allowed to come inside the house with any clothing in fact I may as well just throw it all away because the clothes that Can be washed on extremely high heat I can keep but it has to go into a bag outside before it can come in and everything else that needs to be washed on delicate which is most of my hunting clothes equaling 1500+ is going to the trash because it will still be cheaper than paying the exterminator if we get an infestation. So all right I get to buy all new hunting clothes in the middle of hunting season which definitely aren’t going to be available in my size this time of year. and since I trasnsported the clothes in my truck that needs cleaned too. But on the bright side I did save 30 bucks on the hotel room. So that is why I give this hotel 6 stars. Its only lets me put 5 so I just clicked 1 that 1 is the extra star for all the extra stuff I got. Enjoy the show. Almost forgot you have to scan the room key upside down but they don't tell you until you walk back to the office and tell them your key card doesn't work. This place should definitely be on your bucket list."
"The first time I stayed here was last Fall. I found this place charmless and neglected, but no one in Madison had rooms except them so we stayed. The room was frumpy, and the TV didn't work, but the office staff was pleasant, and we had no major issues. The second time we stayed was this past weekend, also because no one else had rooms. We checked the room (120) for signs of bedbugs, saw none so we brought our things into the room. Later we found a bedbug crawling on the sheets on one of our beds. The front staff person called the office manager, who was at home, to tell her about this and she said that no one else had had any problem with bugs in that room. That was a somewhat irrelevant response, but it seemed to imply that there actually was not a problem or that we were to blame. They offered to change our room, but when I walked up to the office in the dark, a man made an obscene suggestion to me and, as we were 2 women traveling alone together, we did not feel safe relocating to the back of the building in the dark. No apology was offered. No discount was offered. I realize that things like this happen, but the issue is how it is dealt with. This staff stonewalled us. All staff claimed not to have the authority to discount, and still, no apology was offered. We left Madison earlier than planned since we would both need to sort, inspect and wash everything that we had in our room so that we didn’t bring the scourge home with us. This was abysmal experience . From the frumpy, dumpy dingy room to the complete lack of service recovery. I discourage you from staying here"
"We stayed @ Bestway for an overnight to visit Madison. Upon arrival in our room, the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke when we thought we were reserving a smoke free room. The bedding had dried blood stains and was dirty. The front desk clerk was apologetic but it was too late for housekeeping to change out the bedding. She kindly switched our room. We checked out the new room before settling in - and the blanket on one of the beds had holes in it - with dried little bugs in the holes. There was also stains and dirt on those pillow cases. We took the bedding from the clean bed in that room & went back to our original room & switched out the bedding. Noisy guests outside our room around 12:30 a.m. - loud & drunk, falling into trash cans & fell into my car several times = luckily not leaving any marks on my car. On a positive note, the shower was clean and the water was hot. However - the bath towels were stained and didn't smell clean. We stayed in Room 119 on 9/8- I hope we can receive a refund for this stay or at the very least, a discounted stay."
"Needed an inexpensive room for the night. Cheapest I could find was Best Way and it came in at $99. Paid way too much! The staff at check in (Erika?) was wonderful. The hotel itself seemed low class but what can one expect when needing a cheap room? Upon entering the room, I was immediately greeted by an overwhelming sense of neglect and disappointment. The room's condition left much to be desired, with a pervasive sense of dinginess that permeated every corner. The bathtub was so unclean that it made me question whether it had been properly sanitized in ages, the mildew on ceiling was horrid and the holes in the flooring were an unwelcome surprise. Adding to the unpleasant experience, the air conditioner emitted a truly repugnant odor that made it difficult to breathe comfortably. As someone who was hoping for a budget-friendly option for a single night's stay, I found myself regretting every penny spent here. Any attempt at "updates," such as the paint jobs, appeared to have been executed with a reckless disregard for quality, resulting in an appearance that could only be described as the work of an intoxicated painter. The walls of the room were an eyesore, featuring a mishmash of disorienting orange shades that could only be compared to vomit. This nauseating color palette combined with a dark reddish-orange hue served only to intensify the room's overall unclean atmosphere. The condition of the exterior walkway along the second floor mirrored the interior's lack of upkeep. Scuffs, dings, and signs of wear and tear were everywhere, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect and disregard for guest comfort. If you have a strange affinity for the sensation of being trapped in a forgotten sitcom set from the 1970s, then this establishment might strangely appeal to you. However, for anyone seeking a clean, well-maintained, and welcoming accommodation that is truly value for money, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
