"Receptionist is very rude. Every medical facility should verify insurance before patient appointments. Drove 2.5 hours for them to tell me my son's insurance was inactive, then the lady at the front desk was rude when she called the insurance company. I asked for a work note since I had to take off work and she told me I couldn't get one cause my son wasn't seen. Norton's has no value of people's time or respect for their patients."
"I had a appt with Ashley. Nurse practitioner. After a quick x ray she came in and told me she didn’t see any problems Except slight scoliosis and arthritis. I have Been to serval doctors look at my X-rays and told me the Severity that my spine is in. When I asked her about the difference in my hips she said it’s fine. I had to point out to her how uneven and twisted eight side is. I’ve had several drs point this out. Did not offer CT scan or any help. Waisted my time. I can’t wak can’t set most days. The pain I have is unbearable most days. I have bone on bone pain and swelling nerve pain and numbness."
"Had an appointment with Ashley the nurse practitioner last week. She was very kind. This review isn’t about the staff being rude. I’m giving a one star review because Norton does not value a patient’s time. I have waited weeks to meet with a surgeon to discuss my options. After getting my appointment scheduled finally, the scheduler called me and made an appointment for a CT scan the day after my scheduled appointment with the surgeon. I made sure that the surgeon could meet me with out having the CT scan results and the appointment scheduler assured me that it would be no problem. I showed up early for my appointment today as suggested. It’s painful to drive and it’s painful to sit. I waited in the office for over 30 minutes and a nurse came out and called my name and told me that the doctor could not see me without my CT scan results! Wow how ridiculous!? What a waste of my time. Way to ruin my day. The cherry on top is that the office didn’t even offer to reschedule me so who knows if I’ll ever meet with the surgeon?? They also charged me a co pay! Who knows when that refund will come in or if it ever will? I’m going to try to have my all my records sent to Baptist health because they are more highly rated. I recommend anyone who has read this do the same because Norton doesn’t seem to value people’s time. I was really looking forward to meeting the doctor and getting surgery scheduled. I guess it will be another month or two in pain."
"I would not expect an x-ray of my arm if I went in for a broken foot. So why did this doctor inspect my spine when I went in for muscle/tendon issues? Norton hospital's in general are glorified con artists and drug dealers. I was referred to Leatherman and Spine for a CT scan to investigate possible torn muscles or tendons in my neck. (My neck is burning and I lost mobility in my rotator cuffs.) The doctor refused to listen to me and offered opiates while insisted on looking at my spine for compressed disks. (I have 2 compressed disks in my lower back so I know what that feels like and this is not that.) I repeatedly told her that nothing was wrong with my spine and the issues I was having dealt with the muscles and/or tendons in my neck. Again she refused and scheduled an $800 MRI instead of the CT scan that was recommended by my insurance and a different doctor. After a month of waiting for the results, they finally called me in to the office. When I got there she told me that I did not have a compressed disk. Again, I told her that the issues I was having had nothing to do with my spine but the soft tissue surrounding my spine. She told me she didn't know what to tell me because my spine looked fine. On top of the deplorable and expensive non-existent diagnosis, now my company will not let me return to work because they need an "accurate diagnosis" with "legitimate restrictions." What kind of doctor behaves in this manor? I would not expect an x-ray of my arm if I went in for a broken foot. So why did this doctor inspect my spine when I went in for muscle/tendon issues? If I could rate less than one star I would."
"Leatherman spine has a terrible reputation for patient care. So I was worried about being sent there by my primary care physician. When I went the doctor was nice and explained how bad with detail my spine was and laid out a plan that would be surgery or try pain management ( injections) and physical therapy. Since my wife was 7 months pregnant at the time, surgery was off the table at the time. The doctor agreed but was still concerned that I watch my activity because of my disc bulging completely into my nerves at the L-5. Bad enough you can't even see my disc on MRI. So we set up treatments, which will cause me to take leave from work because injections are only on Monday and Friday, which I work both and you can't do any strenuous activity for 24 hours after. I turned in FMLA paperwork and paid fee. Then received call that they would not fill out paperwork. This is where it began. They told me to have primary care physician fill out, which is funny because I was sent to specialist because of their knowledge of my issue, that's what specialist do is diagnosis in their field which is who fills out form for whatever serious medical condition you have. Talked to work doctor, they agreed that it was their responsibility. Talked to FMLA lawyer, he agreed it was their responsibility told me to talk to office manager, should be fixed. Talked to my primary care physician, she said it was their responsibility that's why she sent me after MRI and to talk to office manager. So called and tried to talk to doctor again, she never returned my call. Called office manager and was passed around from person to person. They argued that she was not supposed to fill out paperwork because she did not "put me off work" because I did not choose surgery. That conversation helps out with moving forward because my lawyer said they can't hold that over my head to force me to choose surgery and FMLA is not for having surgery. It's for having a serious medical condition that needs to have treatment. Which is what the doctor put me on. So do NOT go to this place if you want to be treated like a patient. They only want your money and surgery. Anne Buck has refused to fill out 5 minutes of paperwork so that I can go through treatments she referred me to without losing my job. I work for Ford motor company. I kill my body and jump through hoops at work because of the few who abuse. Shame a doctor's office treats me just as bad. Terrible patient care, shame on them from bottom to the top they gave me no help and sounded like they're repeating something printed off."
