"Steer clear terrible experience, lack of communication, improperly handling of issues, possible dangerous situations due to incompetent staff and organizational communication failures. Our 2-year-old was enrolled at this school, and it was the first time he was in daycare. Teachers communicated he was doing well and there were no issues. We provided Dr's notes about his dairy allergy to the staff on day 1, in addition we asked what would happen if he did come into contact with dairy products. Would they give him Benadryl? They stated we could leave some Benadryl for them in the event of an emergency, so we did and gave them a bottle to keep in his cubby. The facility uses Brightwheel and gives updates daily on food, activities ect.. Those updates included a message of them offering him dairy products even though it was communicated he has a dairy allergy. This all is on week 1, on week 2 Monday the Director calls (we have never seen of spoken to her until this point), she was abrupt and rude. We went from he is doing well on his first week to he is on probation due to an incident that occurred last week. The teachers communicated no incident to us in fact they always said " he is doing well" every day we asked. There was no documentation of the incident only the phone call from the director. I went to the school to meet the Director Tuesday and she was quite full of herself and her years of experience as she informed me of several times. Several things came from this conversation: 1: She had no idea my son had a dairy allergy. 2: She stated that her staff would never have taken medication from us, (I went to the back and showed her were it was) 3: Several forms were missed during intake due to her being "out" and the staff's inability to follow the policy. The Director never knew he had a daily allergy even though we provided Almond milk and a Dr's note on day 1. 4: The teachers were not communicating honestly when we asked how he was doing. That conversation ended, later that evening during bath time we noticed a very deep and clear bite mark on our 2 yrs old's shoulder. This is now Wednesday of week 2, I returned to the school in the morning and spoke to the Director again. After presenting the picture I could tell she was irritated to be speaking with me again. This conversation went on for several minutes, we discuss the bite he received and once I stated to ask questions about the incident refused to look into it and in fact let out this piece of info THE CAMERAS DONT RECORD CONTINUSLY AND ARE RECORDED OVER AFTER 48 HRS. She then dismissed our child because I was asking questions about him being injured. The fact is they either didn't know that he was bitten or didn't tell us. We parted with me mentioning that I would be reporting the facility to the state. Several hours later I received call from a gentleman who stated he was the owner's husband. I arranged a time to pick up the rest of our child's belongings and once there he stated they could not find anything on camera regarding the bite he received. No kidding because the cameras on not recording continuously! I would caution any parent who needs childcare when they consider this location. The staff seem overworked and at the limit of how many children they can watch at any time. The don't communicate and clearly have no idea what's going on. Check the BBB for reviews, after this incident I have seen similar experiences on there for this location. Our child was injured they had no idea or try to hide it, they took medication without Dr's authorization, they tried to feed him items he was allergic too. My advice steer clear and find a daycare you can trust."
"The employees are very friendly, the facility is always clean, and if there are ever any issues the director is always very approachable. My daughter loves her teachers, and going "to school" everyday. We love it here!!!"
"We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to bring our girls here. Our 3 year old looks forward to seeing her "teachers" every day and they certainly care for her like she was their own. Our 1 year old seems to love it too. Owners and staff are all very nice and they're always smiling. Kids Haven also provides great value--we pay much less than we would elsewhere, and I don't feel like our girls could be cared for any better! Also the new building is very nice."
"Great Staff, New building and Cost effective. We moved from Learning garden, down the street. This place helps you parent, and teach your kids, no tv's in classrooms unless educational content is being played. Not that way at other schools!"
"So pleased with Kids Haven by Sandy. This is by far the best child care center that my 3 children have attended. The toddler room teachers are wonderful and make my one year old feel right at home. I have 2 school age children who attend in the afternoons after school and the teachers that work with them daily are OUTSTANDING! All of the staff are so welcoming and kind. They make everyone feel as if they are a part of a big family."
