Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care - Jeffersonville

"My wife went in to have a severe earache looked at. The person who saw her, told her that there was nothing wrong with her. Gave her some ibuprofen and sent her on her way. Turns out she has a full blown ear infection and fever. This is not typical of a Baptist health facility visit in my experience. However, this person who examined my wife isn't qualified to examine a dog. They need to check competence of the people working there."

"I would recommend no one attends this Baptist health for any reasons other than an ER visit. In 2022 I visited them for a pain on my right side(assuming it was appendicitis) I gave them my insurance and info needed and was told to sit and wait. After I waited 5 hours in the waiting room, I was brought in and checked out. They gave my an MRI scan and made sure I didn’t have appendicitis. When I was looked at and found in good health I was sent in my way. When my bill came in they had charged me around 300 for the radiology bill. Then I saw I was given an ER visit bill for over 5,000$ and I called them asking why I was charged for an ER visit as I waited 5 hours to be seen and I was told that this branch bills out any visit as an ER visit instead of Urgent Care. Even though! It’s labeled as ER and Urgant care. They do not charge you for an Urgent care visit and strictly an ER visit. And now I’m 21 and stuck with a hefty bill that is dangled over me because of them."

"Went there last night (30 December 2023) for nausea, vomiting, being unable to eat or drink, onset 3 days. I directly told them that I was concerned about being dehydrated. They swabbed for COVID, flu, and strep, which all came back negative. They noticed I had slight jaundice of the eyes and asked if they could run some blood tests to check my liver. They did. When they got back with me about it, all I was told was that some of my readings were high and to follow up with my primary. No further explanation about what could be going on. I asked about the issues I came in for (vomiting, dehydration) and was told to go get seen at the ER if it gets worse. No other instructions. Not so much as a direction to try to rehydrate. Just a simple answer that made me feel as I was being told to go F myself. After all, the IV catheter was left in my arm, which I had to remove myself after leaving. (See photos). All in all, bad experience. The RN Sam is a very kind woman and was very thoughtful and thorough in explaining everything and why it needed to be done. I cannot say the same for APRN Emily Winn. Would not ever send a loved one here and as a healthcare provider myself, I found their care to be VERY subpar."

"I was with my dad at the ER and we were seen by Dr Avery. He was friendly, calm, and took all the time we wanted to answer questions, repeat himself or explain things if needed, and make sure we were comfortable and understood things. A+ bedside manner. He even said he didn’t want us to go home confused or stressed because he knew that would raise cortisol levels which would be counterproductive to healing. Fantastic experience. I hope he is training other doctors. Other staff were also super friendly and kind. Really positive experience."

"This visit was absolutely wonderful by urgent care standards! The people that work here absolutely made it though. When I arrived around 7pm on Thursday the waiting room was completely full. In less than an hour they got every single person triaged and back to rooms or even out in that time. I ended up ordering dinner since I hadn’t eaten all day and I got called back before my food got there. They literally brought my food back too me when it came just showing how over the top their level of service, understanding, and kindness is here. They took all my information, made sure my insurance was good to go, X-rayed me, and answered all my questions that I had. Everyone that came in knew what was going on and so it made it a seem less process and everyone seemed to actively enjoy their jobs and helping people. Everything was new and nice as well which was a nice change of pace and kept things moving along quickly. They were extremely busy here so try and remember everyone here is human and helping to their best and as quickly as they can. I don’t ever want to go back to an Urgent Care place, but if I ever have too I’ll 100% be coming back here."
