"First injection of facet blocking worked well. Had approx 6 hours of pain relief. Next comes the nerve ablation which should give relief for as much as a year. The temporary relief yesterday was great."
"Pretty sad to go to a place when you're in constant pain and get no help. You go back for a second time and of course there is no relief. They were basically throwing darts against the wall. They asked to get an x-ray, which I have no problem with. I asked to get some relief from the pain that's keeping me from sleeping and living a normal life. Then I get questioned like I'm some drug addict for needing help. Of course the drug test they make me take to get the 15 pills they offer to help with the pain that they cannot identify comes back negative. Overall, just a very putrid state of where we are with this medical system. Doctors more scared to lose their license than to treat their patients."
"TLDR: Incredible office staff, but careless physician. My experience with Dr. Muniswamy's staff, especially Nikki & Justice, was phenomenal. They were kind, patient & attentive. However, I cannot say the same for Dr. Muniswamy. I have experienced chronic migraines for most of my life & they seem to be exacerbated by the fact that I clench my jaw and grind my teeth. I had previously been injected with Botox for migraines, as well as in my masseter muscles for TMJ. When I went to Dr. Muniswamy's office, we talked through these things and scheduled an appointment for injections. When I called to confirm it had been approved by insurance, I was told 200 units had been approved. Given that he had told me standard protocol for migraines was between 100-150 units, I assumed that meant the other 50-100 units would go into my jaw, which seems to be one of the main sources of my tension and migraines. When I arrived for my appointment, Dr. Muniswamy did not explain the procedure, tell me where he was injecting, or give me any idea what to expect. In less than 10 minutes he had injected across my face, head, neck and shoulders without marking any of his injection sites (I have never received botox without it being mapped out for symmetry). He told me he was finished and I asked about my jaw. He told me he wasn't doing my jaw, and I reminded him of our conversation at my last appointment. He eventually said that he remembered that now (did he not read my chart before coming in or take notes about my pain during my last appointment?), but there wasn't anything he could do because 45 of the Botox units have to be wasted and it would be fraud to inject them elsewhere. I expressed my frustration and told him I felt like this was a waste of $1,000 (he seemed shocked that it cost that much), when the tension in my face/jaw is what drove me to the appointment in the first place. He cared very little about my pain or experience and promptly left the room. Nikki tried to comfort me and worked hard to make things right, and for that I am grateful. However, as a doctor who is treating patients living with chronic pain, I would expect that they would listen to their patient and collaborate on a treatment plan that best fits their needs, rather than utilizing a "one size fits all" treatment. I will not be returning to this office and strongly recommend you seek out a different provider if you are looking for pain management options."
"I should have read the reviews. Zero concern, was not listened to at all. My MRI/X-rays were of no use, he didn't bother looking at any of my paperwork showing I had real physical issues. I was dismissed with a stock script for chronic pain, not the acute pain I need treated. Even after saying I did not need opioids, no alternatives were offered. He does not prescribe opioids and that was it. No plan of action, no alternatives. It was gel shots for my knees or nothing. I am not sure he even heard me say it was both knees. I don't think he heard me at all."
