"My family went to the fair grounds to attend the 2023 Kentucky state fair. We arrived early in the morning and entered through gate two. At the time we arrived, there was plenty of parking, low traffic, and no wait in line to purchase tickets or enter. Tickets can be bought upon entry or pre-purchased online. If you buy online you have to purchase through Ticket Master, which is a less than reputable company. If you buy at the gate, it is notably more expensive. We paid $10 extra for not wanting to purchase through Ticket Master, which is ridiculous. Additionally, you may feel a bit nickeled and dimmed as the rides, beer garden, and horse show are not included in your general admission. The prices for admission can easily exceed $75 per person if you want to do everything. The vendors, facilities, and offerings were very unique and well kept. These were some of the nicest fair buildings we'd seen!"
"Our family loves going to the Ky State Fair, kids are always so excited to enjoy the rides and try some of the cool food being served. We always spend the day outside enjoying Thrillville. So I will give my honest opinion on that part. (Inside is a different story) we got bands for unlimited rides 35$ a person. Entry to the Fair is 10$ per person riding in the car so it was 60$ for 6 of us. Kids tried many rides and they enjoyed a lot. But when it comes to the games I was a little disappointed, it’s always 10$ for something per game. I personally found them very hard to beat and waste of money. But hey, it’s for fun right! You must bring enough money because it’s usually very hot and you will be thirsty/hungry especially with kids or make sure bring enough water with you to keep you going. They allow strollers, also I have seen pulling small kids wagons etc. Water is either 3$ or 4$ per bottle. Overall the atmosphere is good, people from all walks of life. We will definitely attend again it’s really nice entertainment for kids."
"Went to the KY State Fair on Wednesday evening. Parking was close. There were not a lot of people during our visit, which was nice for a change. It was easy to view exhibits, enjoy entertainment, and short food lines. It was hot but typical for the fair. Enjoyed the band Soul Circus in the Bud tent! It was a great fair experience especially since I was able to get my yearly trout sandwich and original state fair corndog! Always like checking out the cakes, melons, bees, and photography."
"First time at a state fair. Lots of animals- it's like a free petting zoo .. oh, I loved it! Well organized with exhibition and vendors. Food options were meh... typical fair food and a bit overpriced."
"I love going to the Kentucky State Fair. They have free concerts, awesome food that you can't find anywhere else and live entertainment. There's a lot to do, such as see a show, see and pet animals, ride some crazy awesome rides and so much more. When you come to the Kentucky State Fair you will have a great time!"
