"My 9 month old started here on 2/5/23 and has missed about three-four days either because he was sick or I was afraid for him to get sick and kept him home. Today was his last day because I advised he was not returning. Aesthetically the place looks good and smells good, but unfortunately the staff in his room were not cleaning properly—the toys and changing table. Old fashion bleach to water ratios need to be used in this state of chaos with all the illnesses going around. It started on the 9th of February where he had this awful flu like illness that made him terribly sick as well as myself, husband, and teenage son. We were vomiting and had diarrhea for days. The teachers in his class disclosed the culprit that got everyone sick but I couldn’t understand why they don’t send I’ll kids home at the first site of illness. Well a couple weeks later we have this notice go out regarding hand foot and mouth disease. My son contracted this from an infected classmate that they claim he won’t be back for a while due to recovery time. Just our luck my son was sent home today for suspected hand foot and mouth disease. He has a rash on his bottom but it has come and gone for a couple of days with use of desitin. His teachers are evening posting that t they are applying it for a few days now. I have never dealt with this disease so assumed it present outwardly on the hands feet and mouth. He has been cranky because he is still trying to overcome the first illness he contracted there. We are taking him to the doctor to get checked today. The classroom teachers need more training on cleaning and taking toys away after one child picks on them so the next child doesn’t go behind them. They should have a bin and throwing toys in there throughout the day. I had to speak with the Director because they were sending pics through the parent portal with other children present. Most often the kids would have so much snot hanging out their nose it was unbelievable. Teachers should be putting on gloves and wiping their noses. I told the director and she advised they can’t send kids home because of a runny nose, BUT YOU SHOULD BECAUSE THEY ARE SICK. I’m not talking just runny but this mucous snot. I told her that is going to get on the toys and on other kids. Moving forward I never received any other snotty nose pictures. I posted a picture of a child that they sent me a picture of and my child was in the background. This was normal to see amongst the children when entering the classroom. I think they are very delayed in identifying kids illness to the point where all the other kids are sick by the time they take action. Also, they have too many teachers floating around in and out of the classroom, that’s is not good for little babies either. I can’t speak for the older class, but I would not recommend this daycare for children that are still placing objects in their mouths. Kids will get sick but staff needs to be proactive. Daycare is expensive 356 per week to be exact especially when paying for care while your kids are out."
"We have used Windhaven Academy for the past 3 years for both our kids. My daughter graduated from their first preschool class and attends in the summer. We love Miss Sarah and Miss Summer in my son’s class. The school offers great activities for the kids such has dance, soccer and other athletic activities. The Director, Miss India is the best along with Assia, the Owner. Our kids love going to Windhaven Academy."
"My daughter has going here for about 9 months now. We didn't find the class that matches her age when we started her here but the administration was kind enough to accommodate her in a class that is below her age. With that she had almost 3 class transitions, all of her teachers were very kind and patient throughout these transition periods. She has been in her current class for almost 5months now. Her teachers (Ms. Sarah and Ms. Summer) are absolutely the best. My daughter always looks forward for the show & tell, Music Monday's and splash Friday's (during the summer). Admin staff is friendly and food is great. We will recommend Windhaven Academy for any family/friends."
"We have been at Windhaven for over 2 years and have loved our experience. The administration and teachers are extremely attentive and always listen to any feedback I have to share. We came to Windhaven after being at another private center and have really appreciate the daily updates and photos we receive from all of his teachers. Something else we have appreciated over the years is the organic food and menu items Windhaven provides. Not all centers pay close attention to the food choices provided and I really appreciate Windhaven's policies when it comes to providing healthy meal choices. My child's current teachers are Miss Hope and Miss Makayla and they are the best my child has ever had at Windhaven. Both teachers exhibit extremely positive attitudes and we love all of the actives the children are working on daily. Thank you Windhaven for being a wonderful child care center!"
"There is so much to say… Windhaven Academy has given this first time mom so much support, security, and comfort! My daughter started attending at 5 months old and Ms. Janell and Ms. Angela made my transition back to work and my daughter’s experience wonderful. I trust all the staff and they do a wonderful job taking care of all the children. Now that my daughter is in Ms. Natalie’s and Ms. Euna’s class she continues to increase her development and loves playing with her friends. She even gets super excited to see them every morning! Thank you all for making my husband and I comfortable and life easier! You all are the best!"
