"First time mama here & I cannot say enough good things about this place! Dr. Quan was amazing. Very informative, thorough & just an all around delight given the issues we were dealing with. The entire staff treated us with care and kindness. This was our first time at this urgent care, but now I know where I’ll go every time for my kiddo. I’ll recommend Texas Children’s 10 times out of 10. Thank you all for your great service!"
"We were referred here from another urgent care that didn't accept the insurance and refused to accept self-pay option. Took in 11-year-old for sore throat, diarrhea, and vomiting. The doctor refused to treat, said he needed an IV and they couldn't do that or any of the tests there, and we needed to go to a hospital ER instead. We were referred specifically to St. David's Children's hospital. Got to the ER there and they didn't do an IV as anticipated. They did a strep test (positive) and prescribed anti-nausea medicine. His brother tested positive for COVID days later. Being sent around to a third place to seek care for a child that only needs a strep or COVID test is ludicrous and incompetent. An urgent care facility should be perfectly capable of administering a strep or COVID test and prescribing medicine."
"Be very cautious with this place. I took my child here with a suspected broken leg (later confirmed a spiral tibia fracture). Before even assessing or immobilizing my child’s broken leg, the nurse or assistant, insisted that we had to get my child on the scale to get the weight because “it’s their policy.” After multiple attempts on my part to explain the reasons for why trying to force an untreated child with a broken leg on a scale was a egregious, I opted to leave and take my child to a different ER, where upon arrival her leg was x-rayed and immobilized immediately. Why? Because that is what the correct emergency medicine protocol for these injuries is. I’d encourage parents to not take your injured children here. They clearly have very incompetent medical staff that would rather uphold their policy than apply established medical protocols for the type of injury along with common sense. To top it all off, I now have to call the business office to request a copay refund."
"Me and my family were traveling from out of state and our son had an earache. This was the only place open late on a Sunday and we’re so glad we made the drive. The entire staff was wonderful and they treated my son (and tagalong daughter) so well with juice, snacks and popsicles. Would recommend to anyone that lives in the Austin area!"
"We came in a panic because my son needed stitches. The nurse Madison was so patient and kind and tried her best to assuage my son's fears. We are thankful Trent the PA was able to stitch up our son, even though it was a large gash and needed 14 stitches (including internal stitches). His extensive experience and confidence was reassuring. They were amazing, and we appreciate them very much. Highly recommend."
