"Please read before paying upfront for services. What has happened to good health care?? Seen in ER and asked to pay my $3000 deductible. Referred to a specialist for severe abdomen/back pain as my kidney is inflamed. The kidney specialist works me in to tell me he is confused why I’m there. Called Presby ER to be told maybe the ER doctor meant urologist, as it’s happened before. Called urologist to be told my symptoms don’t warrant a visit. That I need to start over after 3 weeks in pain with my pcp or gynecologist. The diagnosis I was given by the ER doctor, was questioned by two other doctors as to why he didn’t just put me on antibiotic. ER doctor tells me my blood work and urine test was normal, but please tell me why my urine sample is still in my room on the tray?? I questioned the ER about this and was told if it was still in the room when they were cleaning it, they would run the test. I’m confused how you can tell someone it’s normal when you haven’t ran the test yet?? This all sounds so messed up and is it because the ER got their $3000 or just lazy?? Whatever it was it’s very poor patient care and an investigation needs to be done. I’ve been in health care for a long time and I’m just shocked over this entire situation. I would love to talk to someone in administration about this."
"My husband started in the ER. Then he was admitted for observation. He was given IV antibiotics with his regular pills. He went home on the 4 th day. His care was great. We did have to wait long periods but we were on floor with greater demands. He’s been here 4 times in 5 years. The hospital treats what needs it and then he went to rehab. I’m so happy he came home this time for Christmas.I wish they would get rid of observation and just admit."
"We had a team of doctors and 19 nurses and techs during my husband’s 2 week stay. We started in the ER and were handled with care. After several tests, he was admitted to the 5TH FLOOR! We got a scary diagnosis but the doctors and nursing staff were amazing to us. They helped us stay informed and empowered us to own his care by ensuring we understood each step, procedure, medication and discharge/follow up instructions. Forever our hospital!"
"I would love to give a 5 star review for the AMAZING receptionist they had up front. She answered all my questions and reassured me I would be okay after my car accident. However, it was the back-of-house that brought this review down. I was told by the nurse practitioner that I would be giving a urine sample and that was it, however the nurse came in with the supplies to draw my blood, which I have severe anxiety towards. I was crying, hyperventilating, and crying and she would not stop until I yelled I did not want to do this. She then stormed out of the room and they were very dismissive after that. I feel like if they communicated with me better, I would not have panicked. I feel like I should not be treated like a disease when I refuse a service. I was also told I was getting a CT done, and that did not happen. The nurse practitioner did not go over my x-rays with me, and just said I was fine when I was complaining of rib pain and shortness of breath (which I am still suffering from)."
"The hospital, nurses, and staff provided my daughter with excellent care. Doctor Chen performed an emergency surgery to remove my daughter's appendix. Doctor Chen made sure I was aware of the process and procedure the entire time. The nurses on floor five were very caring and were happy to assist with all of my daughter's needs. During her surgery, Doctor Chen discovered additional health issues we are currently addressing. It was very easy to schedule my daughter's follow-up appointment with Doctor Chen."
