"Mesa Rim is the best climbing gym I have ever been to. I have been climbing since 2009 and I got serious about it in 2020. I have been to a LOT of gyms over that time and Mesa is by far my favorite. I live an hour away and try to climb here once per week, usually on the weekend. The staff are all phenomenal. They are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help as much as possible. Just by talking to them you can tell that they are very knowledgeable and passionate about climbing. The routes are very well set and are reset at a frequency that allows you time to project while also always having something new to climb. The atmosphere is welcoming to climbers of all skill levels and everyone is friendly. It’s easy to walk in alone and find a group to spend the day climbing with or find a group to climb outside with. The gym is always clean and there are stations with tape, alcohol wipes, and bandaids available throughout the gym. Mesa Rim is well worth the hour drive for me and I wish I could climb here more often."
"It's OK. Boulder routes don't have clear starts for single or double hand. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is not the fault of the gym itself, but the number of people after 5 or 6 pm is insane, which makes being able to actually climb or improve really challenging. The best way to actually enjoy yourself is just to go super early. Staff definitely 10/10, though super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on all forms of climbing and gear"
"We've been many times with the whole family (kids 3-11). Our oldest daughter took a class last summer and we discovered that she's a great climber. Having both rope routes and bouldering is very convenient. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. The space is clean and well-maintained. We've also had good interactions with other climbers."
"Finally a place in Austin that does lead/top rope climbing and bouldering! I’m a v2-3 and I could do a lot of the routes fairly easily but there were also so many that were a higher grade than me so whatever level you are you won’t be disappointed! They also have a gym, a sauna, and ping ping! Their locker rooms were very nice too."
