Harlingen Community Theatre
About the Business
Harlingen Community Theatre is a non-profit organization located at 1209 Fair Park Boulevard in Harlingen, Texas. Our theater has seating for 270 patrons, with designated handicapped seating available. We also have two slots for patrons in wheelchairs. Our performances are open seating, ensuring there's not a bad seat in the house!
We produce four to five Broadway quality musicals or plays each year, featuring local talent from the Rio Grande Valley. Auditions are held 8-12 weeks prior to Opening Night, with opportunities for children, teens, and adults to participate on stage or behind the scenes.
If you're a male or female adult or older teen looking for a show to enjoy, our productions are perfect for you! Don't miss out on the chance to support our community theatre and experience the magic of live performances. Visit us next to the Lon C. Hill Destination Park and be a part of our children's summer theatre workshop production.

"This is a wonderful group of people looking to make amazing productions from ordinary community members. They have such a heart to teach, train, and make high caliber shows. I joined for the Fiddler on the Roof production and I’ve met people from all walks of life. I’ve learned how to sing and act from the directors and from observing those around me. 5 stars is not enough. If you ever wanted to try theater, this is a safe environment to go in knowing nothing."
"Very HIGH caliber entertainment for a small city like Harlingen, New York City quality."
"This little community theater is definitely a sleeper! You absolutely need to go to one of their plays if in town. It's all done by local talent, and they definitely have a lot of talent in the RGV! We saw Forever...Patsy Cline! We are looking forward to the next play in February and March."
"I enjoyed the show but there was a young woman in the lobby that talked about doing the Patsy Cline show and she was very annoying to say the least. She was loud and kept talking about how she was a professionally trained singer and Patsy wasn't...yadda yadda. We heard that she's ADHD, her acting teacher this and her acting teacher that... that she lost weight... etc. Very distracting and very annoying. I wanted to come see the Patsy Cline show but because of her boastfulness...I think I won't. Be quiet... no one wants to hear all of your drama except on stage!"
"Just attended HCT for the first time for The Wizard of Oz play. OMG. Super cool performance. Well worth the ticket price. Cast and crew did a magnificent job on a two-show day! Definitely worth seeing performances here. Cast was awesome with beautiful voices and on-point, live orchestra. Strings were phenomenal and piano man was super creative. Our 5 yr old was entranced, our 19yr olf had fun and was impressed and the hubs agrees it was awesome (his gripes with plays is the audio, he has everything on subtitle, so he appreciated the fact everone was clear with mics even with the orchestra at our feet). Our family loved it all and we'll definitely be back for more shows."
