"It's a great place for family. A ton of activities you can enjoy with your kids or alone yourself. Pet friendly (plus more 5*). There is a mountain & a river, it's like an "all you can eat" restaurant. Hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, swinging, floating, throwing stick for your dog, and they will swimming for bringing it back, etc.. Or you can just put your chair in the water and read your books with your beverages, under the sun... I love this place."
"Gardner State Park is a nature lover’s paradise. The cave exploration is an exciting highlight, complemented by the stunningly clear blue water that beckons for a refreshing dip. Diverse hiking trails cater to various skill levels, offering picturesque views throughout. The park’s accommodation options are impressive, from camper sites with electricity hook-ups to cabins equipped with AC, and general tent-friendly parking with accessible electricity. Clean and well-maintained restrooms make the camping experience even more enjoyable. Gardner State Park truly feels like a piece of heaven on earth – a must-visit destination, highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and camping aficionados alike."
"Haven't been here since i was a kid. Didn't realize how much i missed it. Had so much fun it was unreal. Definitely go through the challenging hikes to see the caves. Its sad that people are so trashy and covered them in graffiti. However it is still worth the hike. The mini golf and ice cream among other things was closed bexar it was during the week but we shall be back on the weekend to enjoy it."
"This was a great state park, was pretty slow mid week in the winter. Some great trails to hike here like Mt Baldy and Crystal cave, mostly dog friendly as well. You can explore a lot of the park in just one day, a lot of the trails are on the shorter side and the day use area is beautiful would like to swim there when it’s warmer. There were a lot of options for camping in the park as well."
"Challenging trails were awesome! Lacked true Primitive Campsites which was a bummer. Off-season probably better if you're looking for peace a quiet as it's a huge park with a lot of recreational activities if you want to keep the kiddos occupied. Gorgeous overlooks from high vantage points if you're able to climb!"
