"We came here after you advertised 69 bucks per night. I'd be glad to send you proof of that. After check in the desk person told us that the legal proof of national service animal registration was not good enough and I was required to send an original PDF to the owner and he gave me an email address which happened to be incorrect. I'd also be glad to provide you proof of that. After 2 hours of trying to send the original PDF to the owner I called to the desk... He gave me a different email. I never received a confirmation of that documentation and to be quite honest I came here to rest and have spent several hours in DISTRESS over the ILLEGAL requirements that this hotel required for my legal service dog to stay. When I finally took a Bath there were 3 holes in the fiberglass of the bathtub where water was just leaking underneath it. There was also a red substance on the bathtub which I thought was blood... it turns out it's paint. There are multiple holes in the walls, mold all around and just general disgustingness in this room. It was 18° outside and there was no heat on. The door that he said was closest to our room was out of order so we had to walk all the way around the building just to access our room which was not in the place he said it was in the first place. This morning when I woke up there were bugs in the bathtub crawling around. We were charged a $130 for something we were told was $69 and this room should be shut down and not used for any humans or service animals. When I left this morning to get breakfast there were cigarettes thrown at my door I don't even smoke and neither does my roommate or service animal. The Jimmy Dean sausage on a stick was in a broken refrigerator at 54 degrees. According to the health department they must be kept at 40 degrees at all times. I'm afraid to eat here... seriously. Again, video and photos can be provided. I had nightmares, no sleep in this terrible place. Reporting to health department. Deeply Disturbed, Tracey and April room 110 Sunday jan 11 2024"

"Rooms are very clean and well kept. Felt nice and refreshing coming into a room here. I highly recommend booking here if you are visiting town and need somewhere to crash for a night. The front desk and housekeeping ladies are very nice too."

"We have stayed here twice, never again. Elgin is very limited on motels. We were tired of the worn out Holiday Inn so we thought this would be better since we saw it being built. It's terrible. Here's why: 1. It's dirty. The carpet was stained and I didn't walk barefoot on it. 2. It's dangerous. There is a really rough neighborhood right behind it and no fence or anything. The car next to us had a broken window when we came out in the morning. 3. Housekeeping is not good. The sheet was stained and had hair on it, the pillow had mascara on it. We asked for fresh sheets and they also had hair on them. 4. The bathroom was bad. The toilet moved around on the floor. Sideways and rocked. The bathroom door couldn't be closed because it hit the toilet. This place was constructed in the last 5 years, don't understand how it is so run down already."
