"My partner (a person of color) and I just moved to Houston from Detroit. We are no stranger to the high amount of theft that occurs at beauty supplies. However I do not tolerate profiling and that is all we have encountered at this place. I know this because we are obviously being watched when we both go in but when my partner goes into the store alone, they are followed from aisle to aisle and one time they couldn’t find a bead pack they bought so they went back in to see if they left it and one employee blurted loudly “she had it in here bag! She had it with her when she left!” Like, making the assumption that she was trying to get one over on them? Luckily we found the beads on the car floor as the bag had spilled. This last time was it for me, my partner went in alone and came out with another story about an employee following them from aisle to aisle as my partner was looking for loc-gel and they keep them in different parts of the store. It was a obvious the employee was monitoring my partner. When I went inside to inform them we would no longer tolerate the profiling I saw an employee checking and probably counting the loc gels to make sure none were stolen? I don’t understand why this is necessary if they have security camera? Anyway if you’re looking for a beauty supply, don’t come here, just eat at the taco truck on the corner. It’s actually worth it."

"If I could give this place no stars I would. The first time I came in, I was followed throughout the store by an associate, which I thought nothing at first so I paid no mind. I left and shortly realized that I had lost the bead I had bought, so I went back in and kindly asked if I had left my beads, I was then PROFILED as a thief simply because I asked if they had seen them. The next couple of times I went, I was again PROFILED and followed all through the store. If you are a person of color, DO NOT GO HERE. They will accuse you of stealing simply because you are a different color than them."
