La Michoacana Meat Market

"Purchased carnitas and buche. It was nothing but abysmal and disappointing.The carnitas had large bones and it was dry beyond belief. I had to soak it in salsa in order to be able to chew it. The buche was burnt and my mother couldn’t stomach it. It almost appeared like the meats behind the counter were all left overs from earlier in the week and had just been reheated to be sold. Advice…if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t sell it to consumers. At $10/lb you should have better quality meats."

"Always two handful of people there getting supplies for the dinner . Shouldn't deter you from visiting they are very efficient and food is always fresh . Staff is attentive especially in the meat department sometimes I'm not sure what I'm looking for, just ask they are very helpful. Kudos keep up the good work for convenience meat market in my neighborhood."

"This is the third time the same lady wouldn't let me in the store 15 minutes before they're supposed to close. I even told her I just needed some milk for my baby. She didn't even acknowledge me once again. This is the worst La Michoacana I've ever been to in Houston!!!"

"Been here many times, and the food is amazing, its always fresh and consistent with amazing flavor :) I will say it can be difficult to order tacos if you don't know any english, but 9/10 they will still get it right! Its seriously worth it though, trust me, the tacos are AMAZING. The rest of the store has a great range of snacks to fresh produce; and even a meat market. They also have different types of fresh salsa they make there you can get, and sometimes tamales and candied fruit. I seriously talk about this place all the time and almost always go every weekend or at the very least craving it."
