"Fantabulous Christmas lights!"
"In this summer heatwave, I walk laps in the shade here. 400 steps if you're counting, with an open enough area to allow any rewarding breeze coming up Norhill normally impeded by the east-west cross streets of domiciles, many, two-story in recent years. The relatively low oak trees that line this north to south esplanade leave an open grassy lozenge of land for kid play, picnicking and frisbee throwing. Civic activity uses the space for neighborhood events, like Lights in the Heights. Herons, big ones can be seen hunting food, their nests are in taller oaks on close by streets, as well as hawks and owls at dusk and sunrise. Listen for their calls in the dim light to locate which branch they're on. Beware of the substantial use of the esplanade as a dog walker's pet urinal and toilet. While the fidos are often policed after desecrating the soil, it's still be squatted on, stick to the pavement if you're a germaphobe."
"Stroll along the pedestrian friendly route while enjoying a variety of sights ranging from nostalgic, twinkling white lights to eclectic, colorfully lighted scenes. Listen to the seasonal sounds of Christmas carols, jazz bands, and more, playing on the front porches, driveways, and yards of our neighbors."
"Wonderful neighborhood gathering place"
"It's a nice little green esplanade that's fun to maybe bike with little kids, or play Frisbee with a dog, or, in our case, take a tortoise. I wish that they would perhaps renovate it, add a bench or a garden."
