"Not walk-in friendly nor customer service oriented. Plenty of people around but they will not acknowledge you. This is not a place where you can look at their lumber nor can you look at any of the accessories/hardware for your projects. They are a supplier and their brochure says to contact a sales representative for pricing. You have to know your product and know what you want. You cant order anything online even though their website says you can. I heard a lot of great stuff about the quality of lumber but too bad for me (a novice), I will never be able to experience making a great quality product because of the lack of customer service and the will to assist new customers. I live across town from this facility and it was a sure disappointment and a waste of my time to visit."

"Went inside, talked to the rep at the front. Nice guy. He handed me a ticket and told me to back up my truck to an empty bay. Where I stood outside for 15 minutes with no help. Guys walking around, forklifts driving back and forth, even some guy sitting upfront at a desk. No one acknowledged I was just standing there. It's 101 out and wasnt going to stick around. Hesitant to go back now. Heard great things, read all the great reviews, so pretty disappointed."

"Novice woodworker here, went here cause tired of using twisted warped construction lumber to try and build something decent. Walked in and felt like a dummy cause I had know idea what I was doing, went to the counter and told the guy I was a dummy and didn't understand how these places work. He was super friendly and helpful, walked me outside and explained the way things work, and man do they have nice wood at this place, I only bought a couple pieces and they treated me just like the guy who was buying a truck load, and after some math, it was CHEAPER than the big box stores. I will be back and I can't recommend this place enough. Super impressed."

"I’ve just taken the plunge to leave the big box hardware store and after looking around stumbled into Dakota. With the money I saved I bought a new planer and got some beautiful, giant pieces of lumber for a fraction of the cost. Everyone there is great and they made it as safe as possible to load and pay at the dock without going in. Their prices can’t be beat and I appreciated their patience as I stumbled through what I needed. Thank Dakota, I’ll definitely be back!"
