"Another wonderful meal at Mixtli!Everything was great. We didn’t love the raw scallop seaweed taco but everything else was delicious. The savory flan was incredible and the simple bread service with miso soup was surprisingly one of our favorite courses."
"Excellent from start to finish. I’ve gone to several tasting menus now and have thoroughly enjoyed some interesting flavors but none were quite like Mixtil. Their Japanese x Mexico menu is unique and filled with master level culinary techniques. If you like Sake you’ll like the wine pairing with the different courses for the evening. If I did that part again I think I would stick to their cocktail menu with the exception of one particular sake that is a must try (Sparkling Rosè). Their Smoked Old fashioned done with Tequila and Mezcal with a Mole was particularly excellent as well. For the different courses I found that the wagyu was my favorite, it wasn’t overly steak like and was done with a blue corn tortilla and a really nice pepper sauce that gave just the right amount of heat. The desserts and coffee service is a must as well. If you like seafood and you want to be adventurous the Japanese x Mexico menu is for you. I will definitely be back for other menus because their techniques, presentation, and service were absolutely wonderful."
"I’ve been wanting to come here for years and finally got the chance on my birthday. It did not disappoint! It’s a lovely space that puts you in the kitchen, able to watch all the culinary magic. And for my first visit, their 10 year anniversary menu was the perfect place start. Everything was so delicious and worked well with the wine pairing. Service was also top notch in explaining each of the courses. I look forward to a return visit for my birthday next year."
"THE place in San Antonio for an unforgettable culinary experience. Their current menu “1879- The Present” , which just debuted for Hispanic Heritage Month, features recipes from the famous UTSA Libraries Cookbook collections. Each of the 10 courses of the menu were beautifully explained by our waiter, and perfectly paired by their sommelier. My favorite four courses were the Farm Egg, the Xoconostle aguachile, The braised beef check with Tamarind Mole and the Frenched Rack of Lamb. The Mixtli team never disappoints and is always a great place to share a memorable meal with friends. Can’t wait to come back!!"
