"Came to donate a bunch of stuff since I'm moving. Staff was helpful and friendly. Store has a huge selection of items."
"I needed to try on some clothes and the dressing room was locked, one of the girls working told me to go to the front and ask them for a key to unlock the door. Once I got to the front I politely asked the cashier if she could help me to unlock the door. She had a horrible attitude and replied with no I can't leave the front right now and went back to what she was doing. It was surprising to me because instead of guiding me to someone else who could help or asking me to wait a moment she replied to me like that. It was actually one of the CUSTOMERS who helped me and told me who I could actually go to. And it was the same girl who told me to come to the front in the first place. Once I went back and asked the girl I first spoke to she replied by saying "oh they want me to do it?" It's very clear there is no communication between employees. And once I actually went to purchase my clothes the lady with white hair took a pill in front of me and was acting very strange. HORRIBLE SERVICE!"
"First of all the name of your store is Goodwill. I found that ironic today. I have lived in Austin and shopped at same Goodwill for around 25 years. My family and I have spent approximately $10,000 in those 25 years, no Texan exaggeration there. Today, since it was seniors day and I’m in a place right now where I’m living pay check to paycheck, I actually borrowed $20.00 from my son so I could go to your store. We are having to live pay check to paycheck, right now, because I had to retire from nursing early due to my back. I wanted to purchase some outdoor, whisker furniture today at your store. I did not have enough cash and y’all would not take a credit card payment over the phone. My daughter could not get away from work to run up and pay. I offered to go to her house and get it but she would not let me because of my back. I had $20.00 with me and asked if I could use that as a down payment and was told no. Everyone I dealt with at your store was kind and just kept saying their hands were tied. There is this thing called goodwill and kindness that I believe should have been exercised. I have been a weekly loyal customer 4 ev er!!! I believe in rules and regulations and I also believe individual situations should be considered in certain circumstances. Not taking the $20.00 bill to hold it for 8 hours till my daughter could get there is just wrong. Y’all have raised your prices above what inflation calls for. Used candles for $7.49, balled up shirts for $7.99 etc. I would much appreciate a response to this but no talk about a rule is a rule, I’ve heard that enough for one day. Sincerely Carol McManus"
