"0 stars. Horrendous. Do not use. Cancelled my policy a year ago after moving only to get a renewal email notice a couple weeks ago, which, after doing some digging, turns out I had been getting charged for the past year for renter’s insurance at an address I haven’t been living at. Customer service is non-existent, and when you finally get in touch with someone, they demand “proof” of other insurance / a move-out statement. I cancelled service. Plain and simple. Should be the end of it and refund granted, and yet I still have to jump through hoops to *hopefully* get money refunded that was stolen from me. Even after providing proof of cancellation, they are still charging me monthly. Godspeed to anyone who has to deal with the same issue - seems like this happens far too frequently. Avoid this place at all costs."
"Worst customer service EVER!! After seeing the reviews, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Customer service is horrible and takes forever to get back to you. I needed to cancel my policy and sent over the move out inspection notice as requested. But because my security deposit info was on the same form, they wouldn’t except it! Now after a few months I finally got a refund but they took $7 away for a reinstatement fee which no one ever told me about the few times I spoke with them. I normally don’t write bad reviews but this has to be the worst service I have ever received. Take your business elsewhere!"
"My mind is blown at how useless and horrible their customer service is. I got wrongfully charged twice for home insurance, and over a three month mission of getting my refund I've probably made 50 phone calls talking to them about getting my refund, no exaggeration, and it's like you have to help them with their job. They have no clue how to help someone get a refund, they keep bouncing me around to other people to talk to about it, and countless times someone would say they will do this or that for me to help me get the refund, and never goes through with what they said they'd do. I finally found someone who said they will send me a check for the refund the next day. I call back two weeks later just to find out they haven't even sent it yet. It is a long, wild mission to get your money back for a wrongful charge that was their fault. Their customer service people answering phone calls are like professionally useless, I literally had to keep helping them with their job and they still couldn't seem to be of any help, either they are way to incompetent with their job or customer satisfaction is just not a priority of their's at all. Words cannot explain how frustrating and horrible this was. You need super patience dealing with these people and super determination to get your refund back from a wrongful charge of their's. You literally have to babysit them through the whole process that they should be able to do themselves, did they have any training at all? They can actually drive someone crazy, I'm wondering if they were doing this on purpose so I could give up on it and they can keep the money. The low overall rating they have is not a lie. I looked at many other bad reviews, it's like they're thieves always trying to steal people's money and avoid helping them to get their refund back. Guess what, I still haven't gotten my refund... This company needs justice"
"Especially so soon after the holidays, this was a horrifying experience. I paid for my yearly coverage last November, and was greeted with another $184 taken from my account without prior warning. They very nearly emptied my account. I am beyond livid and will not be using this policy again. Edit: I was told the refund would be received in 15 days at the latest. That time period has now passed with no money returned whatsoever. Along with the prorated funds from cancelling my plan, MSI now owes me approximately $350. I have submitted a complaint with the BBB. 01/16/24: It has now been 18 days, with no word whatsoever from MSI. I will be consulting with a lawyer and going forward with disputing the charges through my bank. Give me my money, Millennial Specialty Insurance. Final Edit: After 3 stressful weeks of waiting, my money was finally returned in full, all $350.40 I was owed. To anyone else in a similar situation, I strongly recommend calling to request any of your banking information be deleted from their system. Accident or not, this system error caused a lot of damage to a lot of people and I do not trust Millennial Specialty Insurance to prevent it from ever happening again."
"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I am extremely concerned to see that I am not the only one being charged after the cancellation of my policy. I used this company for 3 months as required by a previous apartment complex. My policy was cancelled as of March of 2023. It is now January of 2024 and I am STILL being charged monthly. I have not lived at that apartment, or even in that CITY for the last 9 months. I have called multiple times, I have emailed multiple times, sent proof of my cancelled policy from their own website, and have gotten no reply. Apparently Google reviews is the only place they reply so this is my last shot before reporting the company. There is nowhere on the website for me to remove my banking information and this is becoming ridiculous. I got charged again today, 11 months after my policy has been cancelled. I need a reply, a refund, and a guarantee that they will stop charging me."
