"As a 1st time customer with absolutely no experience, with braiding styles, I truly appreciated the time and patience shown to me by, the owner, Sokhna, she was very kind, explaining in detail, even helping with type of hair selection, etc, as I hadn't a clue. And the other stylist, who did the cornrows in the front also, did an outstanding job. (I apologize, can't recall her name)...check them out. I will definitely be a repeat customer."
"Was there before they opened to get two braids on one head and six in the other to end up not getting our hair done after waiting four and a half hours. Not like they used to be. Had been using this shop maybe almost 10 years if not longer, but I won't be returning."
"Worst place I never been to a shop where they can't braid that good. First time I took my daughter for box braids paid $130 and the braids was sliding out within 2 days. Second time my daughter got lemonade brraids and within 3 days they looked horrible. Same day I got the two big braids with the curly ends my real hair was in a ball and showing and I paid $40. My mother is a braider been braiding 40 years plus and I know what the hair supposed to do and not do or look like. I wish she was here in Texas for times like this. This place is a waste of money please don't go there. And they are so damn rude don't speak look at u crazy and all... They got me for the last time and save yourself and time and do not go here!!;"
"I would give them credit for a few things 1). I was a walk-in and didn't have an appointment they started working on my hair immediately which was a plus since I didn't have an appt. 2). They have the braiding hair already at the shop and it cost $5 which saves you $1 vs. going to the beauty supply + it makes your overall trip and experience more convenient. However, my experience at this shop was poor. I will focus on the important things that matter then a few personal opinions. 1) I like my hair overall but I do believe I would have liked it more had the stylist been more open to communication. She did show me the length of the back of my hair to see if I liked it. However, she made the front to short (I got a box braid bob). I would've wanted my hair longer. Unfortunately, I was sitting in a chair facing away from mirrors so I couldn't see the length. I would have appreciated it if the stylist would have at least asked me if the length was okay. Instead when my hair was done she showed me and hoped I liked it. I did not. This is unacceptable to me. When getting a bob you need to make sure you check in the client on the length. 2) I told her that I wanted my bob to be flexible with the parts so that I could wear my hair to either side and down the middle. My middle part is a little bit crooked not terribly noticeable but enough to know she kinda rushed through it. Overall service: 1) This salon was messy in my opinion with things all over the place. 2) The seats were very uncomfortable and when I asked for a pillow the stylist had a major attitude. I sat in the chair for 2 hours in back pain because the sits where so uncomfortable and she insisted I sit all the way back. It got to a point that I had to leave and go buy my own pillow just to get my hair finished. 3) I wasn't offered water or even a break to use the restroom. 4) I didn't have an apron put over me until the end but by that time what's the point? I already had hair on me...thankfully I had on gym clothes and wasn't going anywhere important. 5) The mirrors were all small and circle and I could barely see my hair. I did talk to the stylist afterward about my concerns but she seemed totally and completely #unbothered. I did tell her I would not be back. I paid $180 for my hair and I didn't feel like it was worth my money. It's not chump change and I expect to be treated professionally. I may be a little picky but I think all of these are reasonable expectations for a hair salon. If you are picky like me and the little things matter to you, you may want to skip past this place. I would rather spend my $180 with a stylist that actually gives a damn about my time, money, and experience. Obviously they didn't."
