Nails By Tweedee

"This review is specific to the Nails by Tweedee on MLK & Reed Road: I went for a pedicure and manicure on Oct 21 - the day before I was scheduled to leave for Jamaica. There was a new girl working in the shop. Normally, the owner’s husband does my pedicures, but the owner said he was out sick. I allowed the new girl to do my pedicure and in the process, she used the razor and cut my heel. I told her what she’s did and she looked at the owner who told her to say, “Sorry.” She followed the owner’s instruction and managed to say, “Sowwy, okay?” I allowed her to finish, but my heel was throbbing from the cut! I left, but within 10 minutes, I was literally limping. I went back to the shop and showed the owner how the wound had spread since I left. She put some “medicine” on the wound and asked why I didn’t mention anything to the girl who did the pedicure. I told her I did, and that she knew I did because she was the one who was trying to teach the girl the English language and who told her to say, “Sorry.” . The owner then said, “Oh. Well, she don’t speak English.” (Then why would you ask if I told her anything???) I also got a manicure with shellac that day. The owner recommended a nude color even though I requested yellow. She said the nude would last 2-3 weeks. HA!!! It didn’t even last 2-3 DAYS. I don’t blame them; I blame me for being cheap and waiting until the last minute to get my mani and pedi. I’m giving 2 stars only because the owner did call me and tell me to come back after I called her and told her my nail polish had bubbles and was not smooth. Otherwise, the experience was a very unpleasant one. It took over a week for the cut on my heel to heal. I should’ve taken heed when another customer told me she only allows the husband to do her pedicures. Another lady came I , asked for the husband, and when the wife hold her he was out sick, the lady left and said she would be back “in a few,”. I saw that sane lady leaving another nail shop an hour later with a fresh pedicure. That was Clue # 2 for me. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Nails by Tweedee on MLK & Reed Road."
