"Kaela is so amazing and I normally am uncomfortable around new people. She has gotten my hair so much healthier and she truly cares about me and the health of my hair! I got it colored for the first time and it turned out so pretty and stayed hydrated! I usually deal with dry scalp but Kaela makes sure that my scalp is hydrated and that my hair is on point. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else!"

"I wanted to like this place but unfortunately I will NOT be back. I cannot recommend this salon or stylist (Kaela) to anyone who cares about how they spend their money and the health of their locs for 10 reasons: The stylist was extremely late to the appointment yet has the audacity to have a “strict” late policy for customers (1). Attempted to charge me for a face mask when I wasn’t even told I needed one until the appointment time when I’m already outside (2). I requested a full color job and highlights on my locs and my color doesn’t look any different from when I arrived for my appointment. I basically wasted $300 on a color job for my hair to look the exact same before and after. I specifically told the stylist: No, I am not going for an ombré look. That is grown out hair that I want colored. Why do I still have an ombré? You have to squint and shine a flash light to even notice a slight tint of brown on my hair (3) The stylist was way too rough and tight on my scalp. Heads up, if you’re using proper technique to retwist and style locs, you do not have to tug and pull tight to create a non-frizzy style. Doing that will cause breakage in the long run and I care more about hair health than a sleek style that will only last a day (4). I asked for two strand twists and the stylist didn’t even do the twists herself, her “assistants” did (5). Meanwhile, the “assistants” were young girls from her church, not properly trained or licensed professionals. They were not professional in initially greeting me as a first-time guest and neither was the stylist (6) My hair was incredibly over twisted in the two strand twists and the ends looked so tacky and uneven (7) The “assistant” “shampooed” my hair and it didn’t even feel like her fingers touched my scalp during the shampoo. No way my hair was properly cleaned. She literally just played in my hair. My whole head was itchy the moment I sweated the next day due to my scalp not being properly cleaned and the heavy product that was used to retwist my locs (8). I was told I was going to get pictures sent to me with aftercare instructions and that never happened (9). I do a better job caring for my own hair at home. I immediately had to take everything down and redo my hair for it to look right (10). A bonus: Throughout the appointment Kaela cared more about proving a point that she was knowledgeable about hair and locs by showing me her textbooks and talking about her experience, meanwhile the work didn’t back up the talk. Good stylists don’t need to prove anything or throw a text book in your face. They literally just do a good job and their customers return, for years and years to come. So yeah, go somewhere else if you don’t want to waste your money when it comes to locs at this establishment! I cannot honestly recommend this stylist from my experience. Of the 7 years having my locs, this was by far the most unpleasant styling experience I’ve had. My locs have grown to be as healthy as they are for a reason, and I could see how going here for loc maintenance would quickly change that."

"Kaela did a fantastic job on my hair. I expected a typical wash/blowdry/style yet she went above and beyond and did a fabulous conditioning, smoothing treatment and tiny trim that made such a huge difference in the health and shine of my hair. And the salon has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. It was an all around wonderful experience!"
