"The first time Deidra did my silk press and trim I was happy with the service outside of her using so much heat the room was smoking and my natural curls had changed a bit. I’d just thought she had potential and I’d return next time and tell her to lower the heat. I brought my daughter in for large box braids, she quoted $150 but we decided to do a simple cornrow ponytail instead. We did a wash, trim and simple cornrow ponytail that took her about an hour to do. It was my mistake to not speak up when the price did not change when the style had changed but I also look for people to have integrity and do the right thing which she did not do. I let it go. I went back as I had a birthday coming up and was going out of town the following day after our appointment. Deidre was running a “special” for large box braids $180. I felt I was ripped off because she gave me about 12 thin/frail braids. I was so in shock, I was speechless when she finished and I made the mistake of paying her for this as I was leaving out of town and had to tie up things before I left. Deidre knew what she’d done as she wouldn’t even look me in the face after she was done. The photos below speak for themselves. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the braids the following day and she offered a free silk press but at this point I’d rather not have my hair burned again. I’d have given her so much more of my business and money with me and my daughter coming in. Hopefully it’s a lesson learned that greed and subpar work will get you nowhere"
