"Update - April 28, 2023 TL;DR Dr. Kovach's staff worked to rectify the situation I experienced during my appointment. I received a call from Dr. Kovach's staff and felt that they genuinely wanted to understand and rectify the situation I experienced during my appointment. Dr. Kovach's staff provided me a full refund for the consultation fee, and also let me know they are working on ways to ensure this does not happen to other individuals. I have not been made aware of any tangible changes that will protect against the outcome that I experienced, but they have at least made the effort to understand and listen to their customers. Original Post - March 21, 2023 TL;DR The lack of upfront communication by Dr. Kovach’s staff cost me $500. Do your due diligence! I visited Dr. Kovach on March 20, 2023 to start the process of receiving orthognathic surgery (Jaw Surgery) and it was a great visit until the end. I was told my insurance plan was accepted before my appointment, however Dr. Kovach’s office left 2 key pieces of information out which were that Dr. Kovach is out of network for my insurance plan, and that Dr. Kovach has a $500 non-refundable consultation fee that is not covered by any insurance plan. This information was poorly communicated to me at the end of my visit during payment which required me to do some additional research when I got home. After fully understanding what had happened I called the next morning and validated that Dr. Kovach is out of network which in my particular case is the deciding factor of moving forward with Dr. Kovach, as out of network providers on my insurance plan have an out-of-pocket max of unlimited. This means that my hour late appointment which took 15 minutes and cost me $500 was not needed due to the lack of upfront communication by Dr. Kovach’s staff. As you can most likely guess Dr. Kovach’s staff refused to give me a $500 refund. I caution other customers to do your due diligence upfront as Dr. Kovach’s staff has shown that they are either incompetent or do not care for their customers to help them navigate this confusing world of insurance. The most important part of any business, in my opinion, is to have integrity and Dr. Kovach and his staff have shown they do not possess this quality which is why I do not recommend Dr. Kovach’s services."

"It is easy to see why Dr Kovach has and keeps a 5 star rating. I am an active duty service member and got referred off base because I needed immediate wisdom teeth removal. Long story short, I can’t begin to explain in entirety how amazing my experience was with Dr Kovach’s and his staff. Extremely professional, courteous, and thorough. His office is immaculately clean! Love the staff and client relationship, just great! The office is setup in such a way that you feel like your in a spa/retreat like area. On the evening after my procedure he called me personally to see how I was and if I needed anything. That is a personal touch that is beyond normal, directly showing that he takes pride in what he does and genuinely cares about the patient.
