"I went to this place a few years ago with a BMW K100 to get inspected. The old man rode it around his old, pothole filled parking lot and nearly fell over on it and then jacked the front end up by the engine case without using anything to pad the jack, and started jerking around on my front end, then tried to convince me there was something wrong with the bearings on the triple tree. I looked at what he said was wrong and I didn't feel a problem at all. Took it home, took it apart and found no issues whatsoever. The bearings were great, the chase was perfect. Then I took it elsewhere and it passed easily. I've since learned that they have no right to ride your bike and that what he was checking wasn't even part of a Texas inspection. Years later, the bike is still inspected every year and I have put over 50k miles on it after making no changes at all. It still handles magnificently. This old man is rude and incompetent. He obviously has never rode anything with a higher center of gravity than a cruiser and it scared him into making up b.s. about my bike that caused me to unnecessarily take it apart. I do my own work on this bike. I change my own tires and am competent mechanically. That guy did not seem competent. I have no opinion about the restaurant. I will never go there again and I would never recommend this foolish old man to do anything. It's been over ten years since this happened and I am still pissed about the level of disrespect I got from this man. Go elsewhere. There are two motorcycle inspection places in Elgin that do a much better job and won't start jacking up or jerking around on your bike."

"Mike's state inspection I walked into pay for my inspection mind you I've never been here before and there was literally no where to park so I parked in a spot open infront of the inspection service a man doing inspection asked me to move as that was the spot for the person he was inspecting I moved into a spot where a guy had left and then the guy doing inspection stood infront of me just staring at me so I ask Sir can I help you he then proceeded to talk to me like a child and told me don't I think it be nice if I didn't park infront of people that were here before me as I could see with my eyes mind you there was no line and no where to park or no kind of order of things to make it obvious that we needed to be in some kind of order as it is attached to a restaurant long story short he was a a word that rimes with rick who had no customer service skills or human skills and I left didn't even bother to get my 7 dollars back I'll be sure to tell everyone I know he has no manners and talks to other adults like they are his unloved step child. If I could I would rate his shop negative 100. I recommend a spot a little ways up called redline fantastic personality on these gentlemen great customer service I'd go here instead!! Thats where I went after dealing with Mike and let me tell you I'll go to redline from now on thanks redline for treating me with such respect and customer service was off the chain!"

"Friendly staff, reasonable inspection rates, and the owner of the Roots Cafe on site seems like an awesome guy. The food/baked goods look/smell delicious. Might just have to return to try some of their cooking."

"Great people, and knowledgeable. They don't make you feel foolish for being misinformed or under-prepared, which is really great news for us women folk who tend to be talked down to when it comes to stuff related to cars. They have good prices, and there's even a locally owned family restaurant attached: Southern Roots. Did not get a chance to eat there though. I recommend you check this place out for your inspection."
