"I'm a retired dental hygienist and have been looking for a dental office for the past few years. I've tried a few around my area but never had the feeling it was "the place" for me. Having worked in the dental field, I have high expectations when it comes to finding a dental team I want to be part of my healthcare team. The atmosphere of the office as well as the personality of the staff plays a part in my decision. This was my first time at Bowcutt Dental. Pre-visit communications with Cori were great whether over the phone or over texts. She texted me when an earlier appointment became available so I was seen a few weeks sooner than expected! I knew what to expect as far as payment of services go and how they would handle my insurance. Darlene was the dental assistant who started my appointment by taking all the x-rays and intra-oral pictures with a digital camera. I appreciated her efficiency because, for me, the x-ray sensors can be uncomfortable in the mouth. Next, Emily was my hygienist. Excellent care and technique with the probing of the gums (measuring the pockets around each tooth), and with the hand scalers as well as the ultrasonic instrument. I have a retainer on the backside of my lower front teeth that is hard to keep clean. There was a layer of cement-like tartar that needed to be removed and Emily got the job done without overexerting pressure on my teeth or jaw. I didn't feel like I was hit by a train afterwards (no headache or jaw pain)! The teeth felt smooth and will be easier to keep clean. Lastly, Dr. Bowcutt came in to finish the appointment by doing his exam and going over the x-rays and pictures. He said my teeth and gums look great and I just need to keep up with my cleaning every six months. No high pressured sales for teeth whitening, night guards, special toothbrushes, or any other extra services. I love the relaxed vibes of the entire office and the staff is super friendly. I was given a goodie bag at the end of the appointment. I don't know if established patients get all the goodies but the one thing I liked the most was the almond butter chapstick! It is silky-smooth divine! Good stuff! Highly recommend this office!"
