"My wife was referred to him by another dentist; they took X-Rays, he strolled in, said keeping the tooth was 50/50, my wife said it sounded like it might be better to extract, at which point he said, “Well, you have to go back for that,” and with no further ado exited stage left, before we could ask any further questions. We were billed $290– we were in and out in 15 minutes, not understanding what our options were. Then his assistant balked at giving us the complete medical record we paid $290 for! We went back to our regular dentist who kindly sat down and took the time to walk us through all of our questions and refer us to a GOOD surgeon. God bless the true professionals like her! She billed $33."
"I went to Town & Country endodontics in good faith. Before my arrival they had called my insurance to find out my coverage. The receptionist in charge of billing called me back and told me the treatment was totally covered by insurance. I got to my appointment and all the sudden I was told I had a copay of $125.00. I called my brother to loan me the money… I am on social security disability also a vet. My brother paid them. Come to find out my insurance did not cover any of the treatment. I received a bill in the mail from the endodontics office stating I owed $700 and some dollars. I disputed with my Insurance and my insurance ended up paying for the whole treatment. Therefore I would receive a refund from the endodontics office. They called and told me the check was in the mail. Two weeks later no check in the mail. I called them and talked to billing they told me they had made a mistake of the amount on the check they sent. It was a hundred over what they owed me. I politely joked “I guess that’s an added bonus….. the girl in charge of billing hung up on me… before I could say, “when the check arrives I will call and pay them the amount over.” I still have never revived the check. Now three weeks later still no check. I called the girl in charge of billing today… She acted very unprofessional… she said. “She sent it and that she was not responsible for the post office” and I asked if they could cancel the check she claimed to have sent me. Sarcastically she said “she will have to charge me $25 to cancel the check.” I told her I may have to take the company she works for to small claims court. She then said. “Do what you have to do”. Is that anyway to treat anyone? Especially someone on disability. My lawyer said I should report it to the state board for insurance and the state board that is in charge of dentistry. All because of some uneducated girl that can’t do math and has no business in a billing type of job."
"I was referred there by my dentist for possible root canal they took bitewing wing x-rays and then told me to come in the back and they did 360 x-rays they said they can start the procedure immediately I said I want to make sure my insurance covers everything they came back and told me it was going to be $450 out of my pocket plus $120 for the 360 x-rays I told him no thanks to any of it I also told them they can pay for the $360 x-rays themselves since they never told me about the price and they insisted they did I said absolutely not you did not and I'm not paying for it goodbye"
"This office was very well appointed with minimalist touches, very clean. Tonya, Bertha, and Monica are competent office people. Know: The doctor does not use nitrous oxygen. If you question how to breathe while having your nose and mouth both covered by a 4x4 latex square attached to your teeth and ask for instructions on how to swallow saliva with a dental spacer keeping your mouth open for a few hours, then you likely be directed to pay for pill sedation for which the practice charges $175. The pill sedation is not covered by insurance, but know pharmacy cash price costs $10, not $175. You will also have to have a driver and someone sitting for you in their lobby while you are getting the root canal under pill sedation. You will be charged $50 for a pulp exam (not covered) and required to pay for a Cone Beam CT which they tell you is not covered and costs $120. When you get your bill the charge for the CT is reflected as $340. I opted to find a endodontist who uses nitrous, as this has worked for me in the past. I paid a $170 in uncovered insurance costs for a visit that was essentially an education on what questions to ask prior to scheduling. I think this was a lot of money to spend for an education. Hopefully I will not be billed more for the visit. Questions to ask up front about a practice: 1) does the doctor use nitrous oxygen, 2) what additional tests/costs will be incurred on top of any insurance deductibles/copays, 3) do I want to pay for a medical taxi or someone to sit drive me to/from the endo and to sit in the lobby while I get a root canal under pill sedation, paying $175 for a $10 pill?"
"While the dentist and his assistant seemed nice enough, the way the office is managed is poor. I was referred to this place by my dentist, thinking this office would accept Cigna HMO dental. They rushed me into my appointment with the endodontist, I was UNAWARE of the fact that I'd be getting two root canals in one day because they hadn't told me POINT BLANK that this was an appointment to get the procedure done. Here I was thinking that it was just a quick check up to see if I did indeed need a root canal. A series of miscommunications later, and they stopped me in the middle of getting numbing injections and shared that my insurance company would not accept the referral. Re-evaluate your office management, please--rushing someone into an appointment, assuming things and wasting a person's time is NOT OK. I went home with no root canal(s), a numb mouth and a charge of 92.00 on my credit card for absolutely nothing. It was a mess. I will not be coming back."
