"On Tue, 3/5/24, I stopped at Gillman Honda of San Antonio (Selma) off of I-35 by scheduled appointment to discuss the prospect of trading in my very low-mileage and heavily-garaged 2018 Mercedes C300 for a Certified Pre-owned 2021 Civic (or comparable vehicle) within my price range. Upon arrival, I informed the sales consultant that their valuation of my Mercedes would be my primary qualifier for me proceeding with any purchase decision. While the valuation process of my Mercedes was underway, I was able to test drive the 2021 Civic that I was interested in and was inclined to purchase despite the several dents on the car body and bondo repair on the driver-side rear quarter panel of the vehicle that I pointed out to them. After the sales consultant provided me with a woefully-lowball valuation of my Mercedes in comparison to evidence of higher trade-value valuation from other dealers that I provided, Honda Finance (who the sales consultant had to check in with), rudely declined my request for any counter offer saying that they would only do so if I was to purchase a "new" vehicle off their lot -and- also told me "I was not ready to buy a car". Very ugly feeling hearing this. Quite frankly, I am well equipped to outright purchase 2 or 3 new cars off their showroom floor cash if I wanted to. After responding to the Finance person to exclude my Mercedes trade-in and to consider the reduction of the Civic based on my finding of flaws in the vehicle and to give me a written offer that I can ponder and still buy, he quite arrogantly refused. Folks...In business, this is Exemplary of who NOT to trust. While I will be open to further negotiation with ONLY the Proprietor or General Manager of this dealer, I advise ANYONE and EVERYONE to NOT TRUST GILLMAN HONDA OF SAN ANTONIO. They cannot be trusted. Go Elsewhere."
