Dollar Car Rental

"Had an issue last sunday night! Our flight got into Harlingen at 6 oclock...We had rented a car from Dollar and the counter was closed. Was directed to the Hertz counter they were closed. I called the 800 number to be told there was nothing I could do. W had a three hour drive and no car. The gentleman said he could rent me another car at cost of $469. We did and then found out there wasnt another car available. We ended up sleeping at someones house and was given my rental car on Monday morning. Lost one day of our trip because of this."

"Front desk lady did not understand that certain aspects of my out of state drivers license were actually an intentional security feature and denied me the rented car claiming my drivers license was physically damaged. Could not get a refund. Next stall over at the airport rental counters had no issues at all. Extremely dissatisfied I was not able to pick up the car I paid for on a non-refundable rental and then obviously was denied a refund. Terrible experience."

"Our flight was delayed. We got to the counter at 6:30 just to be told our cat was given away. After we already paid for it. As an added bonus they didn't have any more cars to rent out. We were stranded. How does a company do that with services that were already paid in full. We will never rent from this company again"

"Absolute crooks! Charged us $500 and tried stating we smoked in the car when neither of us are smokers! Tried stating someone must have been in the car with us that smoked- it was only us!! We even vacuumed the beach sand out, brought through car wash, filled the gas tank, armor wiped it down so it looked BETTER than when we brought it in. Crooked crooked company! Do not rent from this place!!"

"Arrived at the airport in the morning with a reservation that was already paid for. Did not have a working credit card because I had to cancel it the night before due to almost $5,000 in attempted fraudulent charges. The agent would not let me use a debit card for incidentals because I did not have 2 forms of ID and therefore she would not rent me the car. Another car rental company would’ve rented me a vehicle no problem, but the rate was double the price. It truly makes no sense and I was out about $100 because of that."
