"4.3 stars. 1st time to eat here. Business meal for our party of 10. Appetizers were mixed as the calamari was overcooked and quite rubbery while the shrimp was not only juicy and perfectly fried but also super fresh. The pork belly was average. The wedge salad was more appropriate for two to three but had a generous serving of blue cheese crumbles and bacon. The 8 oz filet was cooked perfectly rare as ordered. The blue cheese crust was underwhelming and a bit salty. Sides were good particularly the potatoes au gratin. Risotto was meh as were the green beans with prosciutto. The dessert drink of Liquor 43 and espresso was deceptively good and smooth. Be sure to order one post meal! Service was solid as the Palm team kept drinks filled and plates cleared. I didn’t get to see the final bill but imagine it to have cost a good mortgage payment and then some. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Pricey but good but just not one of those “one of the best meals of my life” moments."
"Finally went to the Palm for dinner. I've always expected this was a very fancy place being a high-end restaurant in downtown San Antonio. I guess you could say I was underwhelmed. The dining area gives the feel of a diner and the pictures and caricatures on all the walls and pillars is very odd. I had the steak 6oz. filet. It was very good, not spectacular like you would get at a upper end Steakhouse, and slightly undercooked for being medium. The Cream spinach and garlic mashed potatoes were excellent. It's very pricey and my wife and I had a bill of $200 and we each only had one glass of wine. Overall it's a very nice restaurant , and the service was very good, but nothing really made us want to go back."
"Sublime. The dry aged filet a la Oscar was cooked à point and was remarkably flavorful & tender. The oysters were superb. The seafood linguine with jumbo butterflied shrimp & garlic cheese toast was rich in depth of flavors. Both cocktails and mocktails were divine. Excellent service, discreetly checked on our food to see if we needed anything, never felt rushed."
"Love the atmosphere. Had a triple date with 2 other couples. All items came out on time. Drinks were great. Wine was presented well and tasted great. Great service from Amy. Will be back."
