"Pleasant Surprise at Applebee's As avid food enthusiasts who typically steer clear of chain restaurants, we recently decided to break the mold and give Applebee's a shot for lunch. What unfolded was a pleasantly surprising dining experience that compelled us to reconsider our stance on chain establishments. Walking into Applebee's, we were immediately struck by the welcoming and warm ambiance, which was a perfect respite on a cold and wet afternoon. The decor included charming pictures showcasing the local community of Conroe, Texas, a thoughtful touch that added a unique and entertaining aspect to our dining experience. When it came to the menu, my wife opted for a salad and soup combination, while I went for the classic choice of a hamburger and fries. To say the portions were generous would be an understatement – our plates were brimming with more food than we could handle. However, the true standout was the undeniable quality of the dishes. My wife's salad was fresh and crisp, complemented by a flavorful soup that warmed her up on the chilly day. My hamburger and fries were, in a word, phenomenal. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, while the fries were golden and crispy – a true testament to the kitchen's dedication to delivering delicious, well-executed classics. What truly impressed us was the realization that, despite our initial reservations about chain restaurants, Applebee's had exceeded our expectations in both ambiance and culinary offerings. The overall dining experience was a delightful surprise, and we left with contented smiles, feeling grateful for having given Applebee's a chance. Should hunger strike again, especially when the appetite is insatiable, we won't hesitate to return to Applebee's. Our lunch at this particular branch has certainly reshaped our perception of chain restaurants, and we look forward to more enjoyable meals in the future."

"Came to check out the Dollar-ritas but we tried the spooky offerings on their drink menu instead. The Draculas Juice & Tipsy Zombie both looked super cute, but honestly, they're very weak. The wait to get our drinks was way too long, and we had to flag our waitress down to put in our appetizer and entree order. Our waitress never brought out our (2) appetizers and needless to say we were just really disappointed. She didn't even realize that she never brought out our appetizers we had to inform her. Once they brought them, we did end up keeping the wings order and just took them to-go but there was no point in getting chips and dip after the fact or to-go. It was all together backwards here and honestly the cheap drinks they were serving up weren't worth all the hassle. Lastly, the manager just so happened to check on us as we sat there waiting for the check, for some (15) to (20) minutes and he brought our check and even graciously gave us a discount without us asking for one. We're not the type to make any flat out complaints, but I think our faces said it all, and I think the manager noticed. Sorry, but we don't recommend dining here, and we won't be back."

"The service has been slow for both of my recent visits within the past 4 or 5 months. It took forever between refills of the endless wings when they had them. Over an hour and a half to order, get two additional refills, finish eating, and pay. Our next visit for the dollarrita was a bit better, but it was still slower than it should have been. It wasn't packed, and the bar wasn't getting overloaded with orders. After a few Rita's, we chose to go eat an actual meal elsewhere, as we weren't thrilled with the service speed, and well, let's be real, it's Applebees. The food is mid AT BEST. If you say otherwise, you're lying to yourself. All in all, we'll probably be back. The promotional food and drink specials are good enough to draw us back every couple of months."

"Applebee’s always seems to pull me in with promotions that seem too good to be true. The last time I came was for the endless boneless wings and it took over 30 minutes to get my second plate of wings. This time I came for the dollarita and it was the same it took way too long for every round to come out. The food is generally ok but I would not recommend this place unless chilis has a 2 hour wait. The ketchup bottle was full."
