"We have purchased two vehicles from C&K. The first one was 6 years ago, and the second one was this month. The first purchase worked out very well; the second one remains to be seen, but no major problems so far. C&K is a good dealer for older, higher mileage used cars. But that doesn't mean that every car on their lot is worth buying. Any time you buy an older used vehicle from anyone, you should have a mechanic check it out first, and you should also look at the Carfax or Autocheck report for maintenance records, accident history, etc. Some reviewers here seem to assume that you can buy a 10 to 15-year-old vehicle with 150,000 or 200,000 miles and expect that it won't have any mechanical problems. I wouldn't recommend assuming that, no matter who you are buying from."
"BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BUY CARS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!! Cars transmission went out after two months of buying. They are made to drive just enough to get you to buy it. Let my loss be your lesson! Pros-Great communication & they met me half way to deliver the car. Cons-When I went to go look at the car it was on the website at 208k the car actually had 217k. He did drop the price $800. I got there at 2pm and it closed at 3pm that day for some reason. I couldn’t test drive the car that long due to it having no gas in it also couldn’t get it checked out by a mechanic. With the price drop and me really needing a car for work I bought it. My mistake. !!!!!!!!!IF YOU BUY A CAR FROM THEM PLEASE TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC!!!!!!!!!!! The car I bought has multiple issues and Will be in the shop for acouple of days getting fixed. Car wasn’t cleaned when I went to test drive it and had stuff from previous owner still in it. Be cautious and careful buying from them."
"We texted & spoke on the phone with a few questions we had. We drove 2 hours to check out a car. Had it looked at by a mechanic. It had a few things that needed to be worked on (as expected with a used car). He immediately took the price down $500 when we told him what the mechanics found, and we were good to go! It was already reasonably priced, so that was just icing on the cake. Just a few quick papers and we were off. Not a mound of paperwork that you get a big dealers. Very easy and quick process! We are very happy with our purchase. Update 12/2/21: The “minor issues” that we assumed were needed were only the start. The transmission in the vehicle needed to be replaced which was extremely costly. Luckily we did have a coverage plan that came with the vehicle. I don’t know if this was a fluke or is normal and we still paid a decent price but wanted to update the post to give the whole story"
"***BUYER BEWARE OF THIS DEALER*** They buy auction vehicles from Iowa at wholesale and sell to you at retail. When you buy "as-is" you're stuck. I purchased a Lexus LX from Wes and Kenneth on May 1st, knowing it would need some TLC. 19 days later, after a new AC compressor, timing belt , etc. I found that the vehicle cannot tow because the frame is too rusted in the rear. 3 different shops confirm, and one of them told me the truck IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. After asking if we could work something out, I'm told I'm ON MY OWN. I know I should have been more careful, but it's an expensive lesson. Very expensive trip out to the boonies for nothing. I'll have to trade or salvage and take the loss."
"I bought a used car and when you buy a used car, you always take a chance. That part I understand; however, I wasn't expecting to have to spend $850.00 on the car just so it would pass inspection. The car was advertised having 75% tread on the tires, but when I went to get the inspection done, it failed because 2 tires had cords showing on the very inside of the tires. The tires looked good on the outside where a person could feel and see. Also, the front brakes had to be replaced before the inspection would pass. I had an alignment done while doing the tire replacement and 2 control arms needed to be replaced. They did come down $200 on the price and gave me a powertrain warranty included in the price; however, I am extremely disappointed the car failed inspection."
