"Last night I attended the Grand Opening of the Austin location of Brooke Rodd. At the event, I was able to meet Brooke, who told me she is very excited about opening her first retail store outside of LA (she has three there already). Located on North Lamar across from REI and Book People and just north of Waterloo Records, the Brooke Rodd storefront is in a white, free-standing building. Inside, there is plenty of women's fashion merchandise as well as high-end journals, greeting cards, books and other cool collectibles. At the event, there was live music and drinks provided by Austin's own Dolce Vita cocktails. I hear she may also host a stage and events for South by Southwest in March. If you are looking for a cool store to check out, especially for birthday or Christmas presents, this is definitely a place to see."
