Once Upon A Child - San Antonio

"They have great selections of children’s clothing and toys. They are also very clean and organized. I am always able to find adorable shoes and clothing items for my daughter who is 6. I have been going here for the past 4 years for her and I can always count on finding great deals. For my son on the other hand, he’s 11 and their selection on the older boys clothing and shoes options is more limited, which is not their fault. There are a few times when I am able to find what I am looking for, for him. It is a perfect location since it is very close to my home. One time, I was able to score an amazing pottery barn dress up wardrobe for very cheap. My daughter absolutely loved it. Always worth stopping by here to see what they have."

"Pros - has well organized clothes that are mostly reasonably priced. Great to buy some items and not worry about my kid getting dirty in them at school. Cons - there’s only two places in SA that has noticeably miserable employees and this is one of them. Each time I come in the staff look burnout, irritable and bothered to be assisting customers. I dread walking in with a basket to sell items bc the staff look personally offended and annoyed. The selling procedures also keep changing and it’s difficult to keep up with their expectations. Overall this store is efficient to buy from but I always brace myself for the interactions with the staff that come with it."

"I was hoping to resolve this without having to ding the store's score, but trying to get someone in charge was pretty much impossible. Like a previous review from a different customer stated, my child and I were not made to feel welcome when we walked in. No one greeted us. When it was time for us to check out, the woman did not even say a word to us. She just grabbed our items and began ringing us up, without even making eye contact or any manner of acknowledgment that we were there. After the sale was concluded, she did not even thank us. This is basic customer service. It's not that hard to treat people like human beings. Something this person seems to be lacking. This is the second time this has happened to us at this location. The first one was a handful of years ago, which is why we had not been back until now. I was hoping things had changed. They have not. I'm a local business owner myself, and I would never tolerate my staff being indifferent to my customers in this manner. I understand how much these reviews matter to business. I'm happy to take this review down if a regional manager will reach out to me so we can resolve the manner. Thanks."

"This is one of my favorite stores to shop at for my daughter. I can always count on finding cute clothes at an inexpensive price. The workers are always trying their best and since this place tends to get busy you can tell it is a bit overwhelming for them. I signed up for emails so that I am in the loop on when they receive buys and when their counter is closed. Due to the amount of people who take bins of clothes for cash they have started to limit the bin to one. They do require an ID to sell your clothes and they ask that your clothes be nicely folded. The best way to get more information is through their emails!"
