"Service isn't the same as it was when Mr. Dave was alive. He knew his customers. Every Christmas, Easter, my first Holy Communion suit and my brothers' and cousins' Wedding outfits all came from Mr. Dave's. When I came home from college and needed a black suit for an interview, my dad took me to Mr. Dave, and Phil helped me to pull together a stunning suit, which in 1990 got me many compliments. Mr. Dave's brother owned the California Clothing store in the same shopping center, next to what used to be Broncato's market. They were great men. I hope his son treasures the legacy that his father left him. I haven't been there in years after a negative experience. Recently, my eighty-six year old dad requested a suit for this Christmas from Mr. Dave. He is as pleased as punch. However, at 50 plus years, I have one suit that I hate to part with because it is a memory of Mr. Dave. Remember, it is the memory of a previous generation that is the word of mouth to the future generation about this store. If I may add, Mr. Dave met us there in spirit."
